# Purrlines Long ago, various wizards and sorcerers wanted better helpers for their magical research than traditinal magic provided. So they created Purrlines. Familiars that looked like a simple housecat but where more intelligent. Nobody was supposed to discover this race of creatures they created, but today, Purrlines are found in almost every major city. ## Purrline Traits ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Charisma score increases by 1. ***Age.*** die by 35, mature by age 1 ***Alignment.*** Purrlines tend to be of good alignment, not wanting to do evil things unless they are made to by beings more powerful than themselves. ***Size.*** Your size is Small. ***Speed.*** Your base walking speed is 25 feet. ***Darkvision.*** You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. ***Natural Curiosity.*** You have proficiency in the Investigation skill. ***Small Claws.*** Your claws are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. ***Cat-like Reflexes.*** Your cat-like reflexes help to make you more dexterous in some situations. You can choose to gain advantage on a dexterity based check or saving throw. Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest. ***Languages.*** You can speak, read, and write Common and Elvish. Elvish is fluid, with subtle intonations and intricate grammar. Elven literature is rich and varied, and their songs and poems are famous among other races. Many bards learn their language so they can add Elvish ballads to their repertoires. ***Subraces*** Purrlines have three subraces: Shorthair, Longhair and Exotic. Choose one of these subraces. ### Shorthair. ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Strength score increases by 1. ***Bulky.*** Shorthairs are stronger than their counterparts. They can wield Heavy and Two-Handed weapons without disadvantage. ***Better with Friends.*** Shorthairs are more confident and feel stronger when working with people they are loyal to. You have advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of your allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated. \columnbreak

### Longhair. ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Charisma score increases by 1 and your Wisdom score increases by 1. ***Improved Darkvision.*** Longhairs tend to be more nocturnal than the other subraces. You can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. ***Thicken fur.*** As an action, you can cause your usually long, soft hair to puff up increasing your defenses. For the next 8 hours your AC is equal to 13 + your Dexterity modifier. Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest. ### Exotic. ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Intelligence score increases by 2. ***Wild Nimbleness.*** You can move through the space of any creature that is of a size larger than yours. ***Exotic Coat*** Exotic Purrlines tend to have fascinating and beautiful coats. As an action, you can cause your coat to sheen and look enchanting like a peacock's feathers. For the next minute, you have advantage on all Charisma checks directed at one creature of your choice that isn't hostile toward you. Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
