Kanala - Bond of the Fowl
The Bond of the Fowl is not to be taken lightly. Its adherents know little of morality and actively seek places of death, so that they may continue their disturbing work with access to fresh fodder. Unlike most kanalas, they wish to share their gift with as many creatures as possible. This, however, is a fate worse than death for the other creature.
Bond Spells
3rd-level Bond of the Fowl feature
You gain bond spells at the kanala levels listed. You can cast each of your bond spells once at their lowest level without expending a spell slot or material components. Once you cast a bond spell this way, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
Bond of the Fowl Spells
| Kanala Level | Spell |
|---|---|
| 3rd | animal friendship, feather fall |
| 5th | animal messenger, beast sense |
| 9th | bestow curse, fly |
| 13th | compulsion, dominate beast |
| 17th | dominate person, hold monster |
Fowl Creation
3rd-level Bond of the Fowl feature
When a Small or larger creature dies within 60 feet of you, you can use your reaction to summon a doom chicken from the dead creature's corpse. The doom chicken's game statistics can be found in the doom chicken stat block. The maximum number of doom chickens you can have summoned at any given time is equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded up).
Your doom chickens are friendly to you and your compan-ions. Each doom chicken shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. They obey any verbal commands that you issue to them (no action required by you). If you don't issue any commands to them, they defend them-selves from hostile creatures, but otherwise take no actions.
You can use this reaction a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Fowl Curse
3rd-level Bond of the Fowl feature
When a creature takes damage from your doom chickens, it grows a number of cursed feathers equal to the damage dealt. While a creature has more cursed feathers than hit points remaining, it suffers from the following effects:
- Its creature type becomes beast.
- The creature's Intelligence score becomes 3, and it can't speak except by clucking or crowing. This can hinder a creature's ability to supply verbal components of spells.
The feathers begin growing at the creature's extremities and continue towards the center of its body as more feathers arise. A creature that is already covered in feathers, such as a healthy bird, is unaffected by this feature.
A creature can use its action to pluck 2d10 cursed feathers from a willing creature that it can touch (including itself).

Powerful Burst
10th-level Bond of the Fowl feature

Targeted Curse
15th-level Bond of the Fowl feature
As an action, you can force your curse to pervade the body of a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you. When you do, the target creature must succeed on a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC or immediately grow 125 of the cursed feathers applied by your Fowl Curse.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
Roostless Creation
18th-level Bond of the Fowl feature
You can now use your Fowl Creation an unlimited number of times. You must still obey all the feature's other restrictions.
