## Warlock Patron ### The Crimson Monarch Your patron has experimented with the essence of life itself; learning to harness it. They have continued their testing on other creatures by bestowing their knowledge to loyal subjects. Such power became a curse- syphoning the user’s own life force. This cursed knowledge of syphoning life rivals even the eldest of the vampiric clan. Crimson Monarch Patrons usually are Liches, Blood Fiends, or Vampire Lords. #### Expanded Spell List You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Crimson Monarch Spells table. Each spell counts as a warlock spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of warlock spells you know. These spells can’t be replaced when you gain a level in this class. ##### Crimson Monarch Expanded Spells | Spell Level | Spells | |:----:|:-------------| | 1st | *cure wounds, ray of sickness* | | 2nd | *lesser restoration, alter self* | | 3rd | *vampiric touch, haste* | | 4th | *death ward, dominate beast* | | 5th | *antilife shell, cloudkill* | #### Spending Hit Points Spending hit points is represented as taking necrotic damage that ignores resistance, immunity, and temporary hit points, dealing the damage to your real hit points instead. #### Life From Pain Starting at 1st level, you can use you own life force to temporarily shield you from harm. As a bonus action you can spend a number of hit points, up to a maximum equal to your Warlock level + your Constitution Modifier, to gain temporary hit points equal to twice the amount of health spent, these temporary hit points last for up to 1 minute. While you still have these temporary hit points, you can't use this feature again. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier (a minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. #### Blood Price Starting at 6th level, you learn to cast spells using your own vitality. You can cast a Warlock spell you know, up to 5th level spells, without spending a spell slot, you can cast the spell at any level up to the current level of your Warlock spell slots. Immediately after casting the spell roll 1d8, plus an additional 1d8 per level of the spell, you spend hit points equal to the amount rolled. Spells cast in this way cannot restore your own hit points. Additionally, while under half your hit point maximum, you can add your constitution modifier to one damage roll of any Warlock spells that you cast. \columnbreak
#### Syphon Vitality By 10th level, after constantly juggling your own life, you learn to siphon the life force from other creatures to sustain yourself. Whenever you deal damage to a creature, while under half your hit point maximum, you regain 1d4 hit points, or 2d4 hit points if the attack was a critical hit. Also at 10th level, as an action on your turn, you can sense the location of every creature within 100 feet of you that has blood. #### Deathseeker Starting at 14th level, you have learnt to use other creature's life force almost as well as your own. When you would spend hit points to use *Life from Pain* or *Blood Price*, you can force a creature you can see within 60 feet of you to make a consitution saving throw, on a failed save they take half of the damage for you instead. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier (a minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
