Otherworldly
Patron:
The Crazed Hunger

Many people experience a hunger in their life, both in the sense of actual physical hunger and the hunger for what a person desired. However, some people go too far with this, letting their appetite overcome them and force them to do unspeakable things to satisfy it. These acts very often catch the attention of a being who also has an insatiable craving, and well known for their mindless desire to consume, known as the Crazed Hunger. Warlocks of this patron turn into walking pits of gluttony and greed, their bodies being able to achieve feats of consumption never seen before, and even use what they've eaten to do the impossible. They are never full, always hungry, and searching for their next meal.

Expanded Spell List

The Crazed Hunger lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Crazed Hunger Expanded Spells

Spell Level Spell
1st absorb elements, magic missile
2nd Melf's acid arrow, enhance ability
3rd conjure barrage, protection from energy
4th fabricate, conjure woodland beings
5th dispel evil and good, insect plague

Bottomless Pit

At 1st level, your stomach is a pit that drives you to fill it. You gain a sigil, marking, or some kind of symbol on your body that allows you to hold a number of objects in you equal to 200 pounds. As a bonus action, you can choose to either swallow a Small or smaller item or to regurgitate an item of the same size inside your stomach. When you swallow an item you can choose whether to store it or digest it properly. If a creature casts the dispel magic spell centered on your marking and succeed against your warlock spell save DC, all the contents of your Bottomless Pits is instantly regurgitated. The size of an object you can ingest increases as you gain levels in this class, increasing to Medium at 6th level and Large at 10th level. Also, the weight you can hold in your pit increases as you gain levels in this class, increasing to 500 pounds at 6th level, 1000 at 10th level, and 2000 at 14th level.

Additionally, you can choose to digest a Small or larger object in your Bottomless Pit to repurpose it's energy. You can use a bonus action to absorb the energy to gain an amount of temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus. You can do this an amount of times equal to your Charisma modifier per short or long rest.

Ravenous Bite

Also at 1st level, your cravings allow you to use your jaws to tear at your enemies. You can make a melee spell attack as a bonus action against a creature within 5 feet, dealing 1d8 + your Charisma modifier in force damage.

Iron Stomach

At 6th level, your stomach becomes reinforced and lets you ignore most things that harm your digestive system, as well as gain more energy from what you eat. You gain resistance to poison damage and advantage on saving throws against the poisoned condition.

Additionally, when you hit with an attack with your Ravenous Bite attack, you can also choose to ingest part of what you attacked on the same turn (no action required), gaining an amount of hit points equal to the damage dealt + your warlock level. This feature can only be used once per short or long rest.

Matter into Might

At 10th level, your hunger grows and you can use the essence of what you eat to empower your attacks. Whenever you or an ally defeats a creature, you can consume it's essence as an action within 1 minute of its defeat. You may consume a number of essences equal to your proficiency bonus. The essence must come from a creature who's size is big enough to be digested by your Bottomless Pit feature, and they remain in you until your next short or long rest, after which it disappears. These essences have no weight.

Once per turn, whenever you make an attack, choose one of the damage rolls, adding an amount of damage equal to double the number of essences you've consumed this way.

Devour All

At 14th level, your hunger is at its height and can devour anything in your path. As an action, you can force creatures and loose objects within 30 feet of you to make a Dexterity saving throw against your warlock spell save DC, being pulled into your gaping maw and taking 4d12 force damage on a failure. Loose objects and creatures who are prone have disadvantage on this saving throw. If the damage reduces a creature or object to 0 hit points and they are of size Large or smaller, you can choose for them to be consumed into your Bottomless Pit. This feature can only be used once per long rest.

Author's Note: Non Cannibal & Non Gluttonous Reflavoring

Some players who are interested in this subclass might be put off with the inherent necessity to eat humanoid creatures to effectively play this subclass. While that is totally your choice, for those who want to reflavor it for their games, I would suggest making it so you devour either part of their equipment or their essence.

Additionally, a warlock of the Crazed Hunger does not have to be a greedy or gluttonous person, it could be a curse inflicted on you that you seek to stop or you made a deal with it out of desperation and starvation.
