Half-Elf
Count Margrave considered the four adventurers before him. He was, in a word, disappointed. He'd worked hard to earn the respect of the people, given his... origins. And now, these 'heroes' have made themselves comfortable in his home, after rescuing the town's livelyhood, and essentially sold themselves to him and offered to pay to expand his influence.
"You make a hard bargain" lied the half-elf, through his mother's tusks, "but I'm sure we can come to an arrangement."
An Attractive Prospect
It's generally accepted that the main cause of (half-human) half-elves is due to the fact that, to humans, elves are beautiful, mystical creatures, and to elves, humanity's drive to excel and explore are attractive qualities. Resulting in what is generally accepted to be a (to humans) exceptionally beautiful human with pointed ears.
However, tastes differ. Some elves prefer the methodical work ethic of dwarves, and others the drive to physical excellence that define orcs.
Notable Differences
The most consistent elven trait in half-elves, are their pointed ears, and their (relatively) lithe physiques. However, this is only truly apparent in the half-elves that are half-human.
Half-orcish half-elves, have more muscle mass than their counterparts, that stereotypical green orcish tint, and the prominent orcish tusks.
Whereas half-dwarven half-elves are decidedly less lithe, and notably inbetween their parents, height wise. And while all half-elves can sport facial hair, unlike true elves. Half-dwarves have incredible beard, enough to make even some fullblooded dwarves green with envy.
Half-Elf Traits
Your half-elf character has some qualities in common with elves and some that are unique to half-elves.
Age. Half-elves mature at the same rate humans do and reach adulthood around the age of 20. They live much longer than humans, however, often exceeding 180 years.
Alignment. Half-elves share the chaotic bent of their elven heritage. They value both personal freedom and crealive expression, demonstrating neither love of Jeaders nor desire for followers. They chafe at rules, resent others' demands, and sometimes prove unreliable, or at least unpredictable.
