# Aeronaut ## Airborne Infantry You have created a personal flying device, such as a jetpack, rocket boots, mechanical wings, or small hot air balloon. ## Subclass Features ### Tool Proficiency You gain proficiency with navigator's tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice. ### Aeronaut Spells Artificer Level | Spell | |:----:|:-------------| | 1st | *fog cloud, zephyr strike* | | 5th | *earthbind, gust of wind* | | 9th | *counterspell, stinking cloud* | | 13th | *Galder's speedy courier, greater invisibility* | | 17th | *steel wind strike, swift quiver* | ### Personal Aerial Device By 3rd level in this class, you have, in your studies and experimentations, been able to magically craft a personal aerial device. It may take the form of a jetpack, rocket boots, mechanical wings, or even a hot air balloon. You can, as a bonus action, activate this device and take to the air. While the device is activated, you have a flying speed equal to your walking speed and the ability to hover. As a part of the bonus action used to activate the device, you may choose to either Dash or Disengage, as your rapid liftoff helps move you away from foes. Whenever you finish a long rest, you are able to produce enough fuel to allow you to activate your aerial device a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. Once aloft, you are able to stay airborne for a full minute or until you are reduced to zero hit points, at which point your device will fall. ### Air Support By 5th level, you have become experienced in attacking foes from the air. While airborne, you have advantage on any ranged weapon or spell attack rolls against creatures when you are 30 feet or more above them. ### Evasive Maneuvers At 9th level, you are practiced at avoiding attacks while airborne. Your aerial skill doubles your fly speed and grants you an additional +2 AC while your personal aerial device is activated and your feet are not touching the ground. ### Turbulent Tenacity By 15th level, your time fighting among the clouds and resisting the buffeting winds has taught you to roll with unseen atmospheric blows. You gain resistance to force and thunder damage even when grounded, and your flying speed cannot be reduced, even by magic.
