## Path of the Warden Some barbarians rage not for love of violence, but out of a duty to protect. The Path of the Warden is one of a stalwart defender, always ready to protect those they care for. For a warden, a shield is more important than any weapon, and many personalise their shields to reflect their home, their duty, or their deeds. At your option, you can pick from or roll on the Shield Appearance table to personalise your shield. ##### Shield Appearance | d6 | Appearance | |:---:|:-----------| |

| You paint your shield in the colours of your tribe. | | 2 | You coat your shields with reflective metal. | | 3 | You decorate your shield with the bones of beasts. | | 4 | You wrap your shields in vine and moss. | | 5 | Your shield is bare. It's not for decoration. | 6 | You carve detailed depictions of your adventures and successes into each of your shields. | #### Warden's Rage Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you leap to the defence of others during your rage. While raging, when a friendly creature you can see within 30 feet of you is attacked, you can use your reaction to move up to half your speed. This movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks. If you end the move within 5 feet of the attacker, you can become the target of the attack, provided you're wielding a shield. #### Unflinching Defence Beginning at 6th level, you can't be knocked prone or moved against your will while you're raging and wielding a shield. Additionally, when you use Warden's Rage to become the target of an attack, you have resistance to the damage of that attack, even if it isn't bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing. #### Shield Charge Starting at 10th level, if you move at least 10 feet directly toward a creature while you're raging and hit it with an attack on the same turn, it must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus) or be pushed up to 10 feet directly away from you, provided that you're wielding a shield. If the creature would strike a surface, such as a wall, it takes 2d6 bludgeoning damage. #### Warden's Fury By 14th level, whenever you use Warden's Rage to become the target of an attack, you can make a melee weapon attack against the attacker as part of the same reaction
