Roguish Archetype: Mesmerist
Not content to be a run-of-the-mill swindler or huckster, your silver tongue is assisted by mind-bending magic. Mesmerists often ply their craft openly as stage hypnotists, using entertainment as a cover while drawing out the easily manipulated, from whom money and secrets are soon parted.
Spellcasting
When you reach 3rd level, you learn to beguile and entrance with magic.
Cantrips. You learn three cantrips of your choice from the bard spell list. You learn another bard cantrip of your choice at 10th level.
Spell Slots. The Mesmerist Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.
For example, if you know the 1st-level spell charm person and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast charm person using either slot.
Spells Known of 1st Level and Higher. You know three 1st-level spells of your choice from the bard spell list.
The Spells Known column of the Mesmerist Spellcasting table shows when you learn more bard spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be an enchantment or illusion spell of your choice, and must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level.
Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the spells you know with another spell of your choice from the bard spell list. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots.
Spellcasting Ability. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for your bard spells, since your magic comes from charm and force of will. You use your Charisma whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Charisma modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a bard spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier
Mesmerize
At 3rd level, you learn charm person as a 1st-level bard spell. This spell does not count against your spells known. You can cast this spell as a bonus action, and targets do not have advantage on their saving throws due to being in combat with you or your companions. If the target is in combat, it can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns until the combat ends.
You can cast this spell an additional number of times equal to your proficiency bonus without expending a spell slot, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Weaponized Charm
Starting at 3rd level, you have advantage on attack rolls against creatures with the charmed condition.
Subtle Induction
At 9th level, you are able to slowly lower a creature into a deep trance without them realizing it. If you have spent 1 minute in conversation with a creature and making direct eye contact, the creature has disadvantage on the next saving throw it makes against an enchantment spell you cast.
Unyielding Persuasion
Starting at 13th level, your psychic will cuts through even the strongest resistances. If you attempt to use an enchantment spell to charm a creature that is normally immune to being charmed, it instead simply has advantage on its saving throw to resist the spell's effect.
Beguiler of Beasts
At 17th level, you learn charm monster as a 4th-level bard spell. This spell does not count against your spells known. You can cast this spell as a bonus action, and targets do not have advantage on their saving throws due to being in combat with you or your companions. If the target is in combat, it can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns until the combat ends.
You can cast this spell a number of times equal to half your proficiency bonus without expending a spell slot, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
