Chapter 1 - What Are Primordials?
Introduction
Greetings to All. I am Vuldovyol, and this is Elders Unchained. Elders Unchained is part of my Lore and History of Hycalria line of homebrew. Hycalria is a homebrew world I am building from the ground up, with custom lore and more. So, sit back and enjoy I guess. This is my first time doing this with GMBinder, so bear with me.
Definition. This section defines what a Primordial Is.
Elder Souls. This section defines an Elder Soul and its properties.
Rite of Elder Ascension. This section talks about the Rite that creates Primordials, and what the six known Primordials had to do for the Rite.

Definition
Lets start with a simple definition: Primordials are being of cataclysmic power. With that out of the way, lets dive a bit deeper. The Primordials are a group of six creatures from all across Hycalria's history. Three are former deities, and can be found among the various Age's gods, if you know where to look. The other three are beings of great power who also managed to become Primordials. One thing all Primordials have in commmon is that they bear an Elder Soul. The next section will go into more detail on Elder Souls.
Elder Souls
Elder Souls are the souls of the Primordials, beings of cataclysmic might. A Elder Souls forms when a Divine Soul absorbs the soul of a Primordial, and mantles that Primordial’s purpose. This is called the Rite of Elder Ascension. There can only be 6 Elder Souls in existence at a given time.
Rite of Elder Ascension
As stated in the previous section, the Rite of Elder Ascension occurs when a Divine Soul absorbs an Elder Souls and mantle that Primordial's Purpose. However, this is only needed when six Primordials already exist. If there is a unclaimed Purpose, then the next being to conduct the Rite claims it. This is what happened with two Primordials who were deities already. They claimed the Purposes of Dragonsdeath and Harbinger. There were four more to claim however, and there were claimed not long after.
Rite of Elder Ascension: Abysswalker. The Abysswalker Purpose was claimed by Fallen Solar Lucifael in the aftermath of the Great Exile. He had to sacrifice his 3 greatest generals and slay the Chromatic Dragon Queen Tiamat, in order to mantle the Purpose originally claimed by the Archfiend Falros the Abysswalker.
Rite of Elder Ascension: Starslayer. The Starslayer Purpose was claimed by the Solar Ryridiel in the aftermath of the Great Exile. He had to slay the Platinum Dragon Bahamut and give up his Slaying Longbow in order to mantle the Purpose originally claimed by the Celestial Ilikori the Starslayer.
Rite of Elder Ascension: Deadriser. The Deadriser Purpose was claimed by the undead-turned-deity Udithala in the early Age of Darkness. She had to conquer a nation with an army of the hungry dead in order to mantle the Purpose originally claimed by the Deathking Ujihal the Deadriser.
Primoridal Purpose
Each of the six Primordials has a specific purpose as decreed by Fate. These Primordial Purposes are the cornerstones of the Endwar, and are needed for the end of Hycalria. They are as follows:
Dragonsdeath. The bearer of this Purpose is fated to kill Draconicus the Starborn and all Dragonkin with him. The Lord of Darkest Depths is the first and only to bear this Purpose, and the first to be imprisoned in Asithyn. He was also the first to escape, and the first to be returned to Asithyn.
Harbinger. When the time of the Endwar draws near, the bearer of this Purpose will be sent forth to slay the fighters of the Warrior's Halls of Havithon. The Dread Wolf is the first and only to bear this Purpose, and did what he pleased within his limits. When he was corrupted, he became the fourth to be imprisoned within Asithyn's halls.
Chaosbringer. When the time of the Endwar comes, the bearer of this Purpose is set lose to corrupt the armies sent to stop them, and thus bring chaos wherever they go. Srontil the Dark Windlord is the only being to Bear this purpose, and gained it upon the Gryphon Exile.
Abysswalker. When the Endwar begins, the Abysswalker will rise to destroy the Realms Below, scattering evil magic across the Multiverse. The archfiend Falros was the first to bear this Purpose, and the current bearer is the Destroyer.
Starslayer. When the Endwar begins, the Starslater will arise to destroy the Realms Above, scattering the magic of good across the multiverse. The celestial Ilikori was the first to bear this purpose, and it is born now by the Archangel of Sin.
Deadriser. When the Endwar begins, the Deadriser will reanimate the dead, leading the mortal and hungry dead to victory. The Deathking Ujihal was the first to bear this Purpose, now borne by the Lich-Queen.
Asithyn
Asithyn. The Primordial Cages, the Prison Plane. All that you need to know here is that it is where the Primordials are imprisoned. More information can be found in Realms of Hycalria.

In the end, however, it was not enough, and the god Kayon put an end to the ill-advised conflict. During this war, Ryridiel created the Aarakocra, winged birdfolk that served as shock troopers for Starhaven's armies.
A Solar Exiled
Ryridiel, along with all other Angels and the Aarakocra, was exiled from Starhaven to Hycalria. The Angels and Aarakocra were rendered mortal, but Ryridiel was not. Those Angels rendered mortal are what we know as the Aasimar, the Mortal Angels.

In the early Age of High Magic, Linxoran encountered a group of mages excommunicated from the Church of the Seven. He introduced to them the magic known as Necromancy, which kicked off the War of the Deathless with an early Therian Empire. The Aftermath of this war would result in the ban of Necromancy in most of the known world.

In the end, it was not enough, and the god Kayon put an end to the conflict. During this war, Lucifael created the Lizardfolk, imitations of Dragons to serve as scouts and shocktroopers for Lucifael's armies.
A Fallen Exiled
Kayon did not just exile the Angels and Aarakocra. No, he also exiled the Lizardfolk and the Fallen from the Abyss. The Fallen and Lizardfolk were rendered mortal, but Lucifael was not. Those Fallen rendered mortal are what we now know as the Tieflings.
