Stormborn

Through the storm you walked, and through the storm you were reborn. The Stormborn are those rangers who lost their way and were found again by the whirling thunder and lightning of the tempest.

Stormborn Magic

Starting at 3rd level, you learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Stormborn Spells table. The spell counts as a ranger spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of ranger spells you know.

Stormborn Spells
Ranger Level Spell
3rd gift of alacrity EGW
5th gust of wind
9th thunder step XGE
13th conjure minor elementals
17th control winds XGE

Children of the Sky

At 3rd level, you always know what the weather will be for the next 24 hours.

By spending 10 minutes uninterrupted in concentration you may cast the skywrite spell. When you cast the spell in this way, it is not dispersed by strong winds caused by weather.

Fury of the Storm

At 3rd level, you can channel the tempest through your attacks. When you hit with a weapon attack you can supercharge the attack. You can supercharge a number of attacks equal to 1 + your Wisdom modifier (minimum of one) before you must complete a short or long rest.

When you supercharge an attack, you choose whether the weapon's damage becomes lightning or thunder damage instead of the weapon's usual damage. The following effect is applied to the attack depending on the damage type the attack dealt:

Lightning Damage. Another creature of your choice (excluding yourself) within 15 feet of the target of the attack receives lightning damage equal to the damage dealt to the target if the attack would hit the new target.

Thunder Damage. Each other creature of your choice (excluding yourself) within 5 feet of the target of the attack receives thunder damage equal to the damage dealt to the target if the attack would hit each of the new targets.

Stormforged

At 7th level, whenever you make a weapon attack, you can choose to deal the damage as thunder or lightning damage, instead of the weapon's usual damage.

When you take lightning or thunder damage, you can use your reaction to capture some of the storm's power. Your next weapon attack deals an additional 1d8 damage of the associated type and you gain resistance to the triggering damage type until the start of your next turn.

At 11th level, when you use this ability, you regain one use of your Fury of the Storm feature.

Uncontained Fury

At 11th level, the range of your supercharge effects are doubled.

The target and all creatures which take damage as a result of your supercharge effect now suffer an additional effect based on the type of damage they suffered:

Lightning Damage. The affected creatures can't take reactions until the start of their next turn.

Thunder Damage. The affected creatures are deafened until the end of their next turn.

Storm's Call

At 15th level, as a bonus action, you can return to the storm in a crack of lightning and reappear 30 feet from where you were. When you do so, you may expend one spell slot to create a surge of lightning in a 5-foot radius sphere centered on you when you reappear. Each creature of your choice within range must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC or suffer 1d8 lightning damage for each level of the spell slot you expended and be unable to use reactions until the start of the creature's next turn. You cannot use this feature if you are underground or indoors.
