# Divine Domain At 1st level, a cleric gains the Divine Domain feature. The following option is available to a cleric, in addition to those offered in the _Player’s Handbook_: Destruction. ### Destruction Domain Gods of destruction share a core understanding that anything that is created can and will eventually be destroyed. Some, such as gods of murder and war, seek to hasten this inevitable outcome by embracing wanton destruction. Others, such as gods of nature and the elements, instead promote the necessity of destructive phenomena such as earthquakes, tsunamis and wildfires to the growth and renewal of the environment, teaching that each end opens the door for a new beginning. Deities that include the Destruction domain in their portfolio are not necessarily evil, but they tend toward chaos. ##### Destruction Domain Features | Cleric Level | Feature | |:-----:|:-----------------------------| | 1st | Bonus Proficiency, Unbridled Fury | | 2nd | Channel Divinity: Destructive Smite | | 6th | Hand of Doom | | 8th | Divine Strike | | 17th | Pillar of Destruction | #### Domain Spells You gain domain spells at the cleric levels listed in the Destruction Domain Spells table. See the Divine Domain class feature for how domain spells work. ##### Destruction Domain Spells | Cleric Level | Spells | |:-----:|:--------------------------------------| | 1st | _inflict wounds_, _wrathful smite_ | | 3rd | _ray of enfeeblement_, _shatter_ | | 5th | _fear_, _fireball_ | | 7th | _ice storm_, _staggering smite_ | | 9th | _banishing smite_, _destructive wave_ | #### Bonus Proficiency When you choose this domain at 1st level, you gain proficiency with martial weapons. #### Unbridled Fury Also at 1st level, you can channel the wrathful power of your deity to lay waste to your enemies. As a bonus action, you can enter a destructive frenzy that grants you the following benefits for 1 minute. * You gain a number of temporary hit points equal to your cleric level. * When you hit a target with a melee weapon attack, you deal extra damage equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1). Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest. When you reach 14th level in this class, you can use it twice before a long rest. #### Channel Divinity: Destructive Smite Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to devastate your foes. When you hit a creature or object that isn’t being worn or carried by a creature with a melee attack, you can use your Channel Divinity to deal extra force damage to the target equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1) + twice your cleric level. #### Channel Divinity: Hand of Doom At 6th level, you can use your Channel Divinity to decimate your enemy. As a reaction when you make a weapon attack roll against a target, you can use your Channel Divinity to score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20. You make this choice after making the attack roll, but before any effects of the attack are applied. #### Divine Strike At 8th level, you gain the ability to infuse your weapon strikes with the destructive power of your deity. Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can cause the attack to deal an extra 1d8 force damage to the target. When you reach 14th level, the extra damage increases to 2d8. #### Pillar of Destruction At 17th level, the destructive power of your spells intensifies. When you roll damage for a cleric spell and roll the highest number possible on any of the dice, roll each of those dice again and add those rolls to the damage.
