## Chef Carrying around his prized knife he is always ready to use it. Either that means preparing a simple meal or slaying a monster, the Chef will act with precision to achieve his scope. A chef is more than just a cook. Unlike a cook, a chef is able to bring out the most of the ingredients he is using. The food he makes enhances him or whoever consumes it. Of course, mastery over food isn't only about perfect taste, but about being able to manipulate the taste to match your purpose. A chef can be both a charismatic cook and a horrific poisoner at the same time. ### Always innovating Chefs are devoted to cooking. They constantly seek to expand the universe of flavours and eventually master their own technique. Many Chefs use their cooking as a way to manipulate the crowds through their charismatic performance and nimble motions. Others focus on hunting for their own ingredients. Finally there are those trying to change bring out the best of their ingredients through careful procedures. ### Glamourous Living A number of Chefs are members of Chef Guilds seeking to unseal the mysteries of flavour, while others are only seeking for fame. A few chefs turn to medical cullinary practices and some others simply seek to bring happiness on the faces of the people. Regardless of purpose, Chefs exist wherever there is a need for food, and every adventuring party is in need of that. Chefs usually seek to be praised for their food. ### Creating a Chef As you are creating a Chef you will have to consider what's your style. Are you a charismatic performer or a cullinary researcher? Are you member of a guild or are you on your own? What does food mean for your character? What is it that drives you into adventures? Are you searching for rare ingredients or forgotten knowledge? Are you trying to raise your renown? #### Quick Build You can make a Chef quickly by following these suggestions. First Charisma should be your highest score. Make Dexterity your next- highest score if you are planning on focusing on nimbleness or hunting for your own ingredients. You can always choose Constitution to increase your vitality and resistance to poisoning \columnbreak

While wielding a knife, or a dagger, and you take the attack action you can choose to use your Cook's Utensils modifier for the attack roll. If the target is a creature of the same type as your Specialty Dish you also add that modifier to the damage. You can use this feature a number of times equal your Dexterity modifier + Half your Chef level (rounded down), before you have to complete a long rest. ### Chef Style At 3rd level, you choose a Style that you emulate in the exercise of your chef Abilities, such as Sushi Style. Your Style choice grants you features at 3rd level and then again at 9th, 13th, and 17th level. ### Ability Score Improvement When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 10th, 12th, 16th, and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two Ability Scores of your choice by 1. You gain advantage on Charisma checks toward it until the end of the day. You can't use this feature to more than one creature at a time. Within the duration of this effect, unless you prepare a meal for your target, you won't be able to use that feature on that target again. This feature can be active to as many creatures as your Charisma Modifier + Chef Level. ### Flavourful Bait At 5th level, you can use an action to create an enchanting distraction against hostile creatures on the battlefield. Using Specialty Ingredients, you can put together a small bait which you can throw up to 20ft from you. Creatures in a 15ft radius from the bait get to make a Charisma saving throw against a DC of 8 + Proficiency + Charisma Modifier + Specialty Ingredients used. In case of failure, a creature is compelled to move towards the bait and use an action to investigate the bait. Using the same DC as before, if the investigation check fails then the creature consumes the bait. Any creatures that have failed their Charisma saving throw but haven't made their move yet when the bait is consumed can do their actions as normal. ### Burn Resistant Starting at 6th level, having suffered from a lot of burns you have learned how to protect yourself from fire. You gain resistance to fire damage. \columnbreak ### Ingredient Brewing At 11th level, having experimented with all sorts of materials, you have figured out of a process to create your Specialty Dish ingredients out of simple rations. If the target was resistant to fire, it takes normal damage instead. ## Chef Styles There are different categories of chefs in the cullinary world. Some are guided by precision, while others are guided by their spirit. ### Sushi Slicer Style Training in Precision, a Sushi Chef masters the usage of the knife finding ways to use it more effectively. The key for a Sushi Chef is practice and knowing where to strike. #### Improved Critical Beginning when you choose this Style at 3rd level, your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20. #### Aquatic Specialty Starting from 3rd level when you choose this style, you can gather Specialty Ingredients from creatures native to Aquatic environments. In addition you can create the following Specialty Dishes with any of your Specialty Ingredients: * **Sushi Rolls**: Someone consuming this Specialty Dish gains advantage to Perception checks for a total of hours equal to the number of Specialty Ingredients used. * **Poisonous Bites**: Someone consuming this Specialty Dish must make a Constitution save against a DC of 8 + Proficiency + X. On a failed check, he takes Xd6 poison damage and becomes poisoned. Where X is the number of Specialty ingredients used. If these dishes aren't consumed within the short rest they are made in, they turn into spoiled rations with the properties of Poisonous Bites. #### Extra Attack After reaching 9th level with this style, you can Attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on Your Turn. The number of attacks increases to three when you reach 17th level in this class. \columnbreak #### Pinpoint Strike Once you reach 13th level with this Style, attacks with your knife can be as precise and lethal as expected from a disciplined chef. Critical hits with a knife or a dagger use triple dice, instead of double. #### Surgical Strikes Once you reach 17th level with this Style, your mastery of the knife is godlike. If you take the attack action against an enemy and you haven't moved this turn and you hit your target with a melee attack, then you can choose to count the attack as a critical hit. You can use this feature up to a number of times equal to your Dexterity Modifier before you have to finish a long rest. ### Boar Hunter Style Wild Chefs commited to cooking their own game, they are trained hunters and tough individuals. #### Knife Mastery Beginning when you choose this Style at 3rd level, you have learned how to use your knife like a real weapon. When using a knife,or a dagger, as a weapon use 1d6 for your damage roll. The knife damage increases again when you reach 9th, 13th and 17th level. ##### Knife Damage per Level | Level | Knife Damage | |:----:|:-------------| | 3rd | 1d6 | | 9th | 1d8 | | 13th | 1d10| | 17th | 1d12 | #### Wild Game Hunting Starting when you choose this Style at 3rd level, you can spend some time during a rest to collect herbs or catch some wild animal. The number of attacks increases to three when you reach 17th level in this class. #### Hunter's Bait Beginning at 9th level you have mastered the use of baits. You have advantage on attack rolls against creatures adjacent to your bait. In addition, if a creature consumes your bait everyone has advantage on attack rolls against that target until the end of its next turn. #### Situational Dispatch Starting at 13th level, you have learned that it is all about survival. You try to get what you can when you get the chance. Once per creature, when you land a critical hit or when you hit a creature as part of a reaction, you can choose to add a bonus of 1d4 + Your Chef Level to the damage. Elemental Creatures are immune to this damage. After calculating that bonus damage, you acquire half that amount as Specialty Dish Ingredients, of the Type that the creature was. You can't collect Specialty Dish ingredients again, from a creature that has been affected by this ability. #### Retaliation Starting at 17th level, when you take damage from a creature that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature. ### Arcane Baker Style Focusing on strengthening their inner strentgh, the Arcane Bakers empower the magic of their dishes. The Arcane bakers use magic for the collection of their ingredients as well as within the cooking process in order to provide the world with new deliciousness everyday. #### Spellcasting When you reach 3rd level, you gain the ability to cast spells. **Cantrips.** You learn three cantrips: Prestidigitation and two other cantrips of your choice from the sorcerer or bard Spell list. You learn another sorcerer cantrip of your choice at 10th level. **Spell Slots.** The Arcane Baker Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest. For example, if you know the 1st-level spell *charm person* and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast *charm person* using either slot. **Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher.** You know three 1st-level of your choice from the sorcerer and bard spells lists. The Spells Known column of the Arcane Baker Spellcasting table shows when you learn more sorcerer or bard spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level. Additionally when you gain a level in this class, you can choose one of the sorcerer or bard spells you know and replace it with another spell from the sorcerer spell list, which also must be of a level for which you have spell slots. ##### Arcane Baker Spellcasting | Chef Level | Cantrips Known | Spells Known |1st |2nd| 3rd| 4th| |:----:|:---:|:---:| :---:| :---:| :---:| :---:| | 3rd |3|3|2|—|—|—| | 4th |3|4|3|—|—|—| | 5th |3|4|3|—|—|—| | 6th |3|4|3|—|—|—| | 7th |3|5|4|2|—|—| | 8th|3|6|4|2|—|—| | 9th|3|6|4|2|—|—| |10th|4|7|4|3|—|—| |11th|4|8|4|3|—|—| |12th|4|8|4|3|—|—| |13th|4|9|4|3|2|—| |14th|4|10|4|3|2|—| |15th|4|10|4|3|2|—| |16th|4|11|4|3|3|—| |17th|4|11|4|3|3|—| |18th|4|11|4|3|3|—| |19th|4|12|4|3|3|1| |20th|4|13|4|3|3|1| **Spellcasting Ability.** Charisma is your spellcasting ability for your sorcerer and bard spells, since the power of your magic relies on your ability to project your will into the world. You use your Charisma whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Charisma modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a sorcerer or bard spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one. **Spell save DC** = 8 + your proficiency bonus + ``` your Charisma Modifier **Spell attack modifier** = your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier

#### Arcane Specialty Beginning when you choose this Style at 3rd Level, you have learned to inject your magical essence in your gastronomical inventions. Choose a type of monster: aberrations, beasts, celestials, constructs, dragons, fey, fiends, giants, monstrosities, oozes, plants, or undead. During a rest, you can use any number of remaining Spell slots to create an equal number of ingredients of the chosen type. \pagebreak #### Delicious Golem Pet After reaching 9th level with this Style, your connection with the realm of gastronomy and your obsession with magic, allows you to conjure a Construct. The Construct obeys your commands as best as it can. It takes its turn on your initiative, though it doesn’t take an action unless you command it to. On your turn, you can verbally command the beast where to move (no action required by you). You can use your action to verbally command it to take the Attack, Dash, Disengage, Dodge, or Help action. Add your proficiency bonus to the Construct’s AC, attack rolls, and damage rolls. That Construct is created as part of your Specialty Dish, by using Specialty Dish ingredients. You can only have one Construct conjured at a time. Attempting to summon a second Construct while another one is active, will cause the first Construct to Disintegrate. The Construct's level is equal to the number of Specialty Dish ingredients used for its creation. When you or the Construct drop to 0 hit points, then the Construct is disintegrated leaving nothing behind. The Construct expires seven days after its creation, causing it to disintegrate. At 17th level, the Construct no longer expires. *An exclusive section about the **Delicious Golem Pet** is included later in this handout.* #### Enchanting Fragnance Starting at 13th level, the sweet enchanting fragnance of your creations lingers upon you. Whenever a creature with a sense of smell approaches closer than 10ft to you for the first time, the creature is required to make a Wisdom Saving throw or be charmed. For the duration the creature is charmed,it can do nothing but use its movement to approach you in a safe manner. While an affected creature is within 5 feet of you, it cannot move, but simply stares towards you with a drooling expression. Any attack against the affected creature is done with advantage. At the end of each of its turns, an affected target can make a Wisdom saving throw. If it succeeds, this effect ends for that target. The effect ends early if the creature receives damage in any way. A creature can't be affected by the same ability for 24h. The DC for countering this effect is : 8 + Proficiency Bonus + Charisma Modifier. #### Pocket Cuisine Starting at 17th level, your kitchen has become an ethereal extension of yourself. You no longer need Cook's utensils in order to cook, while once per long rest, you can spend an action to create a shadowy door upon the location you are currently standing which leads in your Pocket Cuisine Demiplane. The door is large enough to allow Medium creatures to pass through unhindered. When opened, the door leads to a demiplane that appears to be a kitchen room 30 feet in each dimension, made of crystal. When the effect ends after 1 hour, the door disappears, and any creatures or objects inside the demiplane remain trapped there, as the door also disappears from the other side. Each time you use this ability, you have the shadowy door connect to a same demiplane you created with the previous usage of this ability. You can interact with your Pocket Cuisine telepathically from the outside, while you have the ability to temporarily materialize objects from within your Pocket Cuisine into reality. As such you gain the following abilities: * **Spectral Knife Slice:** Controlling the weapons within your pocket cuisine, you can make an attack against anyone within 15ft of you. Add your Charisma modifier to the attack bonus and the damage of this attack. The damage from this attack is considered *Force Damage*, unless your target is within the Pocket Cuisine itself, in that case he is inflicted the original damage type of the weapon. * **Arcane Oven Spell:** Using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you can raise the temperature within your pocket cuisine to the levels of a furnace. Everyone within the Pocket Cuisine, has to make a Constitution Saving Throw. On a failure, each creature has to take 8d6 points of fire damage, or half that damage on a succesfull save. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 1st.
