Crenshinibon, The Crystal Shard

Neutral Evil Artifact

Description

Crenshinibon is a glowing crystal shard with an emerald hue. It was created by 7 liches in a bygone era, and possesses a malevolent sentience.

Its personality is marked by a never-ending hunger for power and glory at whatever cost, and it prefers to be wielded by evil-aligned spellcasters. Other wielders are vehicles to aquire such spellcasters, and nothing more.

Traits of The Crystal Shard

Crenshinibon holds a number of powers, some of which it can call upon itself.

Magic Amplification
  • Crenshinibon can be used as a spellcasting focus by any spellcaster.
  • If Crenshinibon is used as a spellcasting focus, the spell is upcast by 1 spell level.
  • It holds 20 charges, and regains 4d4+4 charges at dusk.
  • When you cast a spell you know using Crenshinibon, you can expend charges equal to the level of the spell, instead of using a spell slot.
Beckoning Call
  • It can expend one of its own charges to cause Evil-Aligned creatures of CR:5 and lower within 1 mile to know the distance and direction to crenshinibon for the next 24hrs. During this time, they act to aquire crenshinibon by whatever means possible, and creatures of CR:3 and lower fall under its control.
  • In the event that Crenshinibon has found a suitable host, all of these creatures instead follow Crenshinibons orders to the best of their ability.
  • Crenshinibon can cast Suggestion (DC:15 Wis) by expending one of its charges. When it does, it can target creatures of any creature type.
d10 Example Minions - CR
1 Goblin - 1/4
2 Hill Giant - 5
3 Ogre - 2
4 Gnoll - 1/2
5 Ettin - 4
6 Troll - 5
7 Orc - 1/2
8 Bugbear - 1
9 Kobold - 1/8
10 Minotaur - 3

While traveling with Crenshinibon, 1d4+1 of these creatures appear each hour per tier of play.

Crishal-Tirith

You can expend 5 of Crenshinibons charges to cast Galders Tower as a 5th level spell, which takes the appearance of a Huge crystal tower and lasts until Crenshinibon is no longer in your possession. It has the following benefits:

  • You can cause crenshinibon to regain 1d6 expent charges as an action 1/number of Crishal-Tirith you control.
  • Crishal tirith is unaffected by the effects of spells that include it in their area, and redirects any atk rolls made on it (DC:18 wis) back at the creature that made the roll, using the same result as its own attack roll.
  • Its one entrance is magically hidden (DC:18) from creatures who aren't holding Crenshinibon.

Once you create Crishal-Tirith, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
