Ghoulkin
It is said that there was once a group of humans who became threatened by the growing power of outside forces. Bullying turned to violence, and violence turned to war, but the inhabitants had no chance and their opponents were as powerful as they were cruel. As their numbers dwindled and the war transformed into a genocide, a small village of survivors made a pact with the Doresain, King of Ghouls. For the survival of their people they desired to acquire the strength of their enemies, and so the wish was granted. Their bodies were twisted, their souls tainted, and a great hunger filled them soon. When one of the enemy warriors fell in battle and the survivors leaped upon him their purpose was finally known, for after the grisly feast which occurred on the still-warm body they gained the warrior's strength. And then another. And another. At the end of only three months the genocide had reversed itself and only the ghoulkin remained. They returned to their home, but they continued to hunger, and the hunger did not abate through the generations.
Appearance
The ghoulking look like humans with often more wild features and unkempt hair, slightly gray pallor, wide eyes, and more importantly a mouth full of sharp shark-like teeth. Their teeth are replaced constantly like the sharks they resemble, and are perfect for cutting through human flesh and bone. They trend toward thin lankier forms with pronounced spines and other bones, but are by no means undead
ghoulkin Names
ghoulkin name themselves the same as humans.
ghoulkin Traits
After years of hunting their human like prey they have gained the following
Ability score increase: Your constitution increases by 2 and your dexterity increases by 1
Alignment: ghoulkin can be any alignment, but trend towards chaotic due to their urges and the followers of the original demon worshipers are strongly chaotic evil.
Size: ghoulkin have the same range of height and weight as humans. Your size is Medium.
speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision: You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Devour ghoulkin can eat the flesh of humanoid and monstrous humanoids safely, vastly preferring it fresh, warm, and sometimes still screaming. They can eat a meal's worth of sentient humanoid in 1 minute, or an entire medium sized body in 10 minutes, with seemingly no bottom to their endless stomachs. They can even eat bones.
When they eat such a creature they gain a 1d6 to attack rolls, damage, or skill checks for a number of timesequal to your constitution modifier. this ability can only be used once per long rest.(this effect does not stack)
Iron Stomach ghoulkin are hearty and can pull sustenance from uncooked or rotting foods. They gain advantage on saves against disease and poison
Razor Teeth: The ghoulkin have a powerful bite attack which deals 1d6 + strength modifier of damage. Those with the ability to use unarmed strikes may use either their unarmed strike damage or their bite damage, whichever is higher.
The Hunger The hunger to eat sentient flesh bores away at all ghoulkin of adult age. While a ghoulkin can survive on a human diet (but prefer for raw and rare meats), they really wish to consume the flesh of sentient humanoids and monstrous humanoids. If a ghoulkin goes more than a week without eating at least 1 meal worth of sentient flesh, they take a -1 penalty to attack rolls, skill checks, and saving throws. This penalty is cumulative, to a maximum of -5 after 5 weeks. Eating reduces the penalty by 1 (minimum 0). If the ghoulkin eats in excess (like eating entire medium sized corpse) they can survive an additional 1d4 weeks before the hunger kicks in again, and/or reduces the penalty by 1d4 points.
