Circle of Corruption

Most druids hold their connection to nature near and dear to their hearts, as it guides their every choice and action. Druids of the Circle of Corruption have had this devotion twisted, either through their own volition, or by the interference of some otherworldly force. Their natural magic has become something dark and disturbing. Some say that this is an abomination to nature... others believe it to be nature's truest form.

Circle Spells

The darkness that has altered your magic is a pathway to abilities some consider to be unnatural. At 2nd level, you learn the Vicious Mockery cantrip. When you cast this cantrip, the words are heard by your target as a haunting, chittering laughter at the periphery of their senses, a mournful wail or cry of anguish, or some other unnerving vocalization.
At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to the spells listed for that level in the Circle of Corruption Spells table. Once you gain access to one of these spells, you always have it prepared, and it doesn't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn't appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.

Circle of Corruption Spells

Druid Level Spells
2nd Vicious Mockery
3rd Crown of Madness, Darkness
5th Fear, Vampiric Touch
7th Evard's Black Tentacles, Vitriolic Sphere
9th Cloudkill, Negative Energy Flood

Aberrant Form

The cursed rites of your druidic circle allow you to transform into volatile, dangerous abominations. Your beast forms do not appear to be normal beasts, the corruption of your connection to nature causing them to take on perverse or otherworldly forms. This can manifest in ways such as unusual arrangement of limbs, excessive eyes or teeth, or other such aberrant appearances.
Starting at 2nd Level, you can use your Wild Shape to transform into a beast with a challenge rating as high as 1. You ignore the Max. CR column of the Beast Shapes table, but must abide by the other limitations there.
Starting at 6th level, you can transform into a beast with a challenge rating as high as your druid level divided by 3, rounded down.

Horrific Transformation

Starting at 6th level, when you use your Wild Shape feature, you can force any creature of your choice within 15 feet of you to make a Wisdom save against your spell save DC. On a failed save, a creature is frightened of you until the start of your next turn.
In addition, you can choose from the benefits below to apply to the chosen wild shape form until you return to your normal form, or use your Wild Shape feature again.

  • You gain an extra appendage on your wild shape form, which can be used to make a single additional attack when you take the Attack action. This extra appendage has a reach of 10ft, has a bonus to attacks equal to your Wild Shape's bonus to attacks, and deals bludgeoning, slashing, or piercing damage equal to 2d6 + your Wild Shape's Strength modifier.
  • Your abberant form gains new ways of harming your foes. Once per turn, you can change the damage type of an attack you make in your Wild Shape form to Acid, Psychic, or Necrotic damage.
  • Adrenaline surges through you as you transform. The movement speed of your Wild Shape form increases by 10 feet, and you ignore difficult terrain.

Spreading Corruption

Starting at 10th level, you gain resistance to Psychic and Necrotic damage. You retain these damage resistances when you are in Wild Shape form.

True Abomination

At 14th level, you have unlocked the fullest potential of your horrid corruption. When you Wild Shape, you can choose to expend two uses of Wild Shape to gain all three of the options from the Horrific Transformation feature. In addition, while you are in Wild Shape form, you gain immunity to Psychic and Necrotic damage.
