Origaminion

Transmutation cantrip

  • Casting Time: 1 action
  • Range: Touch
  • Components: S, M (a piece of fine paper worth at least 1 cp)
  • Duration: Concentration, 10 minutes
  • Classes: Artificer, Bard, Wizard
  • You touch the material component of the spell, causing it to fold into a small figurine with a semblance of sentience called an Origaminion. An Origaminion can be any shape the caster desires - such as a swan or soldier - but is still considered a Tiny Construct.
  • An Origaminion has an AC of 5, a 10-foot walking speed, and 1 for each of its Ability Scores. An Origaminion can not take any actions or bonus actions besides the Dash, Disengage, or Hide actions, nor can it make an attack. An Origaminion that makes a Stealth check uses your Proficiency bonus and spellcasting modifier for calculating the result. An Origaminion understands the languages of its creator and can follow simple commands and instructions, such as returning from a room if it’s occupied or waving at someone when they enter a room. If the Origaminion takes any damage, it and the material component of the spell are immediately destroyed. If the spell ends while an Origaminion remains, it reforms into the material component used for the spell. You can only have one Origaminion created at a time.
  • At Higher Levels: You can have two Origaminions active at a time at 5th level, three at 11th level, and four at 17th level.

Wall of Paper

1st-level transmutation

  • Casting Time: 1 action
  • Range: 120 feet
  • Components: V, S, M (a piece of fine paper worth at least 1 sp)
  • Duration: Concentration, up to 10 minutes
  • Classes: Artificer, Bard, Wizard
  • The sheet of paper used for the material component of this spell magically multiplies, creating a magical wall of paper at a point you choose within range. The wall is ¼ centimeters thick and is composed of four 5-foot-by-5-foot panels.
  • Each panel must be contiguous with at least one other panel. You can also choose to make a 5-foot radius dome. As a bonus action on your turn, you can change the placement and configuration of the walls, although you can not move it further than 10-feet away from the point chosen at the casting of the spell. If you create the dome configuration with only 3 or 2 panels remaining, the dome only encompases a 5-foot sphere. You can not create the dome with only 1 panel remaining.
  • You can not conjure a segment intersecting through a creature's space. If a creature would be surrounded on all sides by the wall (or the wall and another solid surface), that creature can make a Dexterity saving throw. On a success, it can use its reaction to move up to its speed so that it is no longer enclosed by the wall.
  • The wall can have any shape you desire, though it can’t occupy the same space as a creature or object. The wall doesn’t need to be vertical or resting on any firm foundation, and magically stays aloft if created in the air.
  • The wall is an object made of paper that can be damaged and thus breached, and has vulnerability to fire and slashing damage. Each panel has an AC equal to 10 + your spellcasting modifier and hit points equal to your level. Reducing a panel to 0 hit points destroys it.
  • At Higher Levels: When cast with a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you create an additional panel for each slot level above the 1st. When you cast with a spell slot of at least 4th level, you can create a 10-foot radius dome so long as you have at least seven panels remaining.

Slicing Papyrus

2nd-level transmutation

  • Casting Time: 1 action
  • Range: 60 feet
  • Components: V, S, M (a spellbook)
  • Duration: Instantaneous
  • Classes: Wizard
  • You cause two pages from your spellbook to become razor sharp projectiles that launch towards targets within range. You can aim them at one target or several. Make a ranged spell attack for each page. On a hit, the target takes 2d10 slashing damage.
  • If either page misses and there is a hostile creature within 10 feet of you that wasn’t targeted by the spell, you can choose to make a ranged spell attack with disadvantage against a creature within 10 feet of you for each attack roll that missed. On a hit, the target takes 1d10 slashing damage as the pages return to your spellbook.
  • At Higher Levels: When cast at 4th level or higher, you summon an additional projectile for every other slot level above the 2nd (three at 4th, four at 6th, and five at 8th).

Paper Shredder

3rd-level transmutation

  • Casting Time: 1 action
  • Range: Self (90-foot line)
  • Components: V, S, M (a book worth at least 1 gp)
  • Duration: Instantaneous
  • Classes: Artificer, Wizard

  • You cause the paper from the book used as the material component of this spell to duplicate and sharpen, becoming a whirling saw of razor-like pages. The saw flies in a straight line, up to 60 feet. If the saw would impact a creature, they must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 3d8 slashing damage. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and the saw continues on its path.
  • If a creature fails the saving throw against the saw, it impacts a solid object, or it reaches the end of its range, the saw explodes into a burst of sharp paper shreds. All creatures within a 10-foot radius of the creature that failed must make a Dexterity saving throw, including the initial creature. On a failed save, a creature takes 3d6 piercing damage.
