The dull metallic sheen and of the ferrous dragons—chromium, cobalt, iron, nickel, and tungsten—reflect in the sunlight with a dull shine differentiating them from the likes of a silver dragons scales. Theirs are the lives of strict hierarchy, abidance of rules and laws crafted by their leaders, the unification of their ultimate goals, and their drive to avenge their angered ruler. The ferrous dragonborn craft strict hierarchies within their clans, selecting the oldest or strongest members as their leaders, and when in alliances, selecting the oldest or strongest to act in charge of all the clan heads.

Wen using this feature, you can spend a minute focusing on a metalic object you can hold within your hand and determine the type of metal, or types of metal used to create it. This could be for anything from an iron sword to a chunk of gold ore.

Ferrous Protection. Starting at 3rd level, you can use your bonus action to temporarily grow thicker and larger scales which protect your body more effectively than your normal scales for 1 minute. For the duration, you gain a +2 bonus to your AC. Once you use this trait, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.
