Actions

Multiattack. The arcane devourer makes three attacks. If it has a creature grappled, it will instead use its Devour ability

Withering Tendrils. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (3d10 + 6) piercing damage, 13 (3d8) necrotic damage, and the target is grappled.

Devour. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target grappled by the devourer. Hit: The target must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the target takes takes 45 (10d8) necrotic damage, or half as much on a success. If the target has the ability to cast spells using spell slots, they lose their highest available spell slot on a failure. They can only regain the spell slot through the use of a greater restoration spell or similar magic. The devourer regains a number of hit points equal to 1d6 x the spells level.
