Cleric Divine Domain: Fate Domain

Fortune favours the bold… or in this case, followers of the gods of fate. Presiding over the past and future, gods of fate are often patrons of travellers and adventurers, and may also hold life and death within their domains. These deities tend to be capricious, and are as likely to bring you joy as misfortune, all to preserve the great cosmic balance.

Paradoxically, those who receive their boons can be counted just as often among those who seek to preserve the course of destiny, as those who seek to break it.

Bonus Proficiency

When you choose this domain at 1st level, you gain proficiency in the History skill.

Blessing of Fate

As an action, you may touch a willing creature other than yourself and smooth the thread of its fate. Once within the next ten minutes, the creature can choose to roll twice on an ability check, saving throw, or attack roll they make, and can choose which roll to use; they may choose to do this after seeing the first roll but before the results of that roll take effect.

Alternatively, they may force a creature they can see to reroll in the same fashion; however the triggering roll must relate directly to themselves in some way. The creature you blessed still chooses which die to use, regardless of the target of the reroll. Examples of this are: rerolling a save against a spell they cast, an attack roll that would otherwise hit them, or an ability check made to assist them.

You may use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Channel Divinity: Isolate Destiny

Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to shield a creature’s fate from outside influences. As an action, choose either yourself or a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you; for the next minute, that creature cannot reroll any dice for any reason, including but not limited to advantage, disadvantage, or features that allow them to reroll damage dice. Additionally, the creature cannot benefit from, or suffer the effects of, critical successes or failures.

Predictable Outcomes

From 6th level, the beneficiary of your Blessing of Fate may now use this feature to guarantee a d20 result of 10, instead of rolling twice or rerolling. They must decide to use the feature in this way before they or their target have rolled.

Divine Strike

Beginning at 8th level, your weapon attacks fall with the judgement of your deity, striking not only the target’s body but their very thread of destiny. Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can choose to have that attack deal an additional 1d8 necrotic damage. This extra damage becomes 2d8 at 14th level.

Shape the Future

At 17th level, your Blessing of Fate gains a range of 30 feet, rather than touch, and you may choose to target yourself with it. Additionally, you may use this feature as a bonus action, rather than an action.
