#### Valafar's Teleportation Tracing *6th-level divination (ritual)* ___ - **Casting Time:** 1 action - **Range:** 10 feet - **Components:** V, S, M (a small lodestone) - **Duration:** Instantaneous ___ You detect the presence of residual conjuration magic resulting from recent teleportation. Choose a point within range. You learn the following things about each teleportation that occurred in the last 24 hours within 30 feet of that point: * If a spell was used to teleport, the name of the spell. * Whether the teleportation was to or from the target area, and the position of the location on the other end of the teleportation. If the location is on the same plane of existence as you, you learn the distance and direction to it. If it is on a different plane of existence, you learn which plane of existence it is on. * How long ago the teleportation effect occurred. It is impossible to ward a teleportation spell against detection directly, but many protections against divination magic can still interfere with this spell, as follows: * If the originator of a teleportation effect is warded (with an *Amulet of Proof Against Detection and Location*, for example), then the spell does not detect the effect. * If a space scanned by this spell is within an warded area (as with the *Mordenkainen's Private Sanctum* spell), then the spell does not detect any teleportation that took place there. * If the location at the other end of the teleportation is within a warded area, then this spell only reveals whether the teleportation was to or from the scanned area, not the position of that location.
