College of the Sun Song


The Sun and light are intrinsically connected to art, music, and beauty; as any Cleric of the Light Domain will tell you; this is a sentiment shared by Bards of the College of the Sun Song. Bards of this College tap into the power of the Song of the Sun, the inherent 'music' of the Sun, as inspiration and to fuel them and their powers.

Solar Chord

3rd-Level College of the Sun Song feature

Whenever you give a creature a Bardic Inspiration die, you can imbue that inspiration with a chord from the Song of the Sun, which glows behind the creature’s eyes. When the creature uses the Inspiration die, the Chord provides an additional effect based on whether the die benefits an ability check, an attack roll, or a saving throw:

Ability Check. If the total on the roll is not enough to succeed, the creature keeps the Inspiration die.

Attack Roll. Immediately after the creature rolls the Bardic Inspiration die to add it to an attack roll against a target, a blinding light flashes. The target and each creature of your choice that you can see within 5 feet of it must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or be blinded until the end of its next turn.
Saving Throw. When the creature rolls the Inspiration die and adds it to a saving throw, the creature becomes resistant to all non-Psychic damage until the end of its next turn.

Song of the Sun

3rd-Level Collge of the Sun Song feature

As a Bonus Action you can perform the Song of the Sun, this song lasts four turns. While performing the Song of the Sun, bright light emanates from you to a range of 20 feet, and dim light extends another 20 feet. While performing the Song of the Sun, you and friendly creatures within your Song’s light can cast spells of 1st level without expending spell slots and you can cast Cantrips that have a casting time of one Action with a Bonus Action instead.

You can use this ability a number of times per short rest equal to your Profinciency Bonus.

Parhelion

6th-Level College of the Sun Song feature

As an Action you can conjure a Parhelion, a minor light elemental, this elemental resembles a small ball of light. You can use this ability a number of times per long rest equal to your Proficiency Bonus and the Parhelion manifests for 1 hour. The Parhelion shares your Initiative and you can give it commands with a Free Action. You can have only one Parhelion at a time.

  • Hit Points 10 + 5 times your Bard level
  • Speed fly 30 ft (hover)

  • Immutable Form. This elemental is immune to any spell or effect that would alter its form.
  • Lighted Form. This elemental sheds bright light to a range of 20 ft, and dim light out another 20 ft.

Actions

Sunlance. Ranged Spell Attack: your spell attack modifier to hit, reach 40 ft, one target you can see. Hit: 2d8 Radiant Damage.

Blinding Beam. Ranged Spell Attack: uses your spell save DC. Failed Save: Blinded until end of your turn.

Sun Dogs

14th-Level College of the Sun Song feature

When you use your Parhelion ability you create two Parhelia instead of one. Additionally, so long as you have two Parhelia you can maintain your Song of the Sun indefinitely.
