Gravity Manipulation spells for DnD 5E

Forcefall

2nd-level transmutation

  • Casting Time: 1 action
  • Range: 60 feet
  • Components: S, M (a paperweight)
  • Duration: Instantaneous

You target one Huge or smaller creature you can see within range that's at least 10 feet off the ground. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or immediately plummet a number of feet up to the maximum range of the spell. A target becomes prone if it hits a surface.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell s lot of 3rd level or higher, the range increases by 10 for each slot level above 2nd.

Repulsion

1st-level transmutation

  • Casting Time: 1 action
  • Range: Touch
  • Components: V, S
  • Duration: Instantaneous

You touch one Huge or smaller object or creature other than yourself, propelling it in the opposite direction. A creature must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed 15 feet away from you. An object doesn't make a saving throw. If the creature or object would strike another creature, object, or surface, both take 2d8 bludgeoning damage and stop moving. A creature can willingly fail this saving throw.

If the object or creature would strike a creature, that creature can make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the object or creature strikes the target and stops moving.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the distance pushed increases by 5 feet and the damage taken increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.

Strangulate

4th-level transmutation

  • Casting Time: 1 action
  • Range: 10 feet
  • Components: V, S
  • Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute.

You extend your arm toward a Huge or smaller creature you can see within range, warping the gravity around their neck. The creature must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or their throat is constricted as they're lifted several inches off the ground. On a failure, the target is restrained. A restrained creature begins suffocating (PHB p183). At the end of each of its turns, the target can make another Constitution saving throw. On a success, the spell ends on the target. The spell also ends if the target is ever outside the spell's range or if it has total cover from you.

As an action on a subsequent turn, and on each of your turns for the duration, you can crush the target's windpipe, causing them to choke (PHB p183). The choking ends if you use your action to do anything else.

A creature that doesn't need to breathe is immune to this effect.
