Cloak of Protection

Slot: Armour (Back)

Clothed in Safety

Item Details

"Woven from thread and magic, this cloak can stiffen to take on the texture and durability of leather, turning blade and arrow that might otherwise pierce through its material."

A Cloak of Protection is a decent way for many to survive who eschew the heavier armours that can be worn. Lighter than metal or hide, far more acceptable in high society, and easier to travel with, such Cloaks are valued by those in more civilised locations.

History

Creation

"A gift to you, who delves so deep into the realms of politics and backroom deals. May it shield your body as well as you shield your words."

Cloaks of Protection are an item which regularly resurface at times; whether found within the items of a deceased relative, or on the back of someone who couldn't quite run fast or far enough, they're well known and sought by those who require a subtle security without access to spells. The Cloaks are theorised to be a Wizards project that one individual found to be quite monetarily beneficial, leading to their prolific presence.

Effects

"The assassin slipped from the shadows, stalking their victim through the empty hallway. They drew a dagger and thrust, a clean strike for the heart from behind; but their blade stopped as it struck the cloak, its fabric rippling and turning aside the blade without warning."

This item requires attunement. Once attuned to it, whoever wears this cloak gains a +1AC and +1 All Saving Throws so long as they have it on them.
