## Monastic Tradition ___ At 3rd level, a monk gains the Monastic Tradition feature, which offers you the choice of a subclass. The following option is available to a monk, in addition to those found in the *Player's Handbook*: the Way of the Broken One. ### Way of the Broken One ___ Monks hailing from the order known as the Broken Ones dedicate their lives to service of Ilmater, the God of Martyrdom, and share in his mission-- shouldering the burdens of a world rife with suffering. Beloved by the common people, they are trained in the skills of healer and hunter both. They roam the land, fighting for the oppressed, providing for the poor, and healing the sick or injured. Like their patron deity, they are slow to anger, but spare no mercy for tyrants or villains who would harm children, small animals, or the otherwise defenseless. Members of the Ilmatari clergy, coloquially referred to as the Adorned, traditionally wear tabards of white and red over loose-fitting grey tunics and trousers, simple brown cloaks, gloves or boots, and more often than not loosely binding their hands with red cord-- or simple grey robes. A Broken One wears the holy symbol of Ilmater as a pin over the heart, or on a chain around the neck, and older clergy may tattoo a grey teardrop to the side of either eye. #### The Broken God's Dogma ___ While not explicitly bound to an oath in the same way as a Paladin is, a Broken One will, by nature, strive to follow Ilmater's example. ***Compassion.*** Aid the ill, the starving, and the injured. Provide counsel for the distraught. Make the voices of the oppressed heard. ***Respect.*** All life is sacred. Do not stand in the way of others' desires, nor condemn them for the path they choose in theirs. ***Righteousness.*** Deliver swift retribution to those who threaten the ones under your protection. Never surrender a cause if it is just. Resist every bully and tyrant in any way possible.
***Sacrifice.*** The truly holy take on the suffering of others, and there is no shame in a meaningful death. If you suffer in his name, Ilmater is there to support you. #### Hallowed Hunter *3rd-level Way of the Broken One feature*
___ Your devotion to the Lord on the Rack's mission is rewarded. You gain proficiency in the Medicine skill. In addition, you can use your ki to use your ki to duplicate the effects of certain spells. On your turn, you can spend 1 ki point to cast *cure wounds*, *hunter's mark*, *inflict wounds*, or *sanctuary*, without providing material components. Your spellcasting modifier for these spells is Wisdom. Additionally, you gain the *spare the dying* cantrip if you don't already know it.

___ The God of Endurance's faithful display an unmatched tenacity in their pursuit of those who would torment the innocent. You gain advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks to track fiends, undead, and humanoids. When making such a roll, you may also learn their exact number, their approximate sizes, and how long ago they passed through the area, at the Dungeon Master's discretion. Furthermore, whenever you physically touch the flesh of one who has been injured within the previous hour by one of the previously listed creature types, you receive a clear mental image of that creature's true appearance. #### Beast of Burden *6th-level Way of the Broken One feature*
___ The Rack-Broken Lord teaches that the burdens of others are yours to shoulder, and their wounds are yours. When a non-hostile creature within 30 feet of you takes damage, you can instead redirect this damage to yourself as a reaction. The targeted creature takes no damage, and you take an amount of slashing damage equal to the damage they would have taken. This slashing damage can not be reduced in any way. #### Blessed Touch *11th-level Way of the Broken One feature*
___ The Crying God guides your hands, granting you the ability to perform miracles. You can cast *mass cure wounds* and *hallow* without providing material components. Once you cast either of these spells in this way, you can’t cast that spell in this way again until you finish a long rest. The spells’ spellcasting ability is Wisdom. #### Martyr's Wrath *17th-level Way of the Broken One feature*
___ When cruelty must be put to a swift end, the One Who Endures allows you to channel a portion of his radiance. On your turn, you may activate this feature using 1 ki point as a Bonus Action. You gain the following benefits while the feature is active: * Your body glows pure white, and you emanate bright light to a range of 30 feet, as well as dim light for an additional 30 feet. * You gain a +3 bonus to AC. * The damage type of your Unarmed Strikes and monk weapons changes to slashing, and they gain the properties of a Vorpal Sword. * Your entire movement speed is replaced with an equal amount of flying speed, and your movement does not provoke opportunity Attacks. Ending your turn while airborne does not cause you to fall. This feature consumes 1 ki point at the start of each of your following turns while it is active. This lasts until you are incapacitated, run out of ki points, or end it using another bonus action.
