Mood Lights

Evocation cantrip

  • Casting Time: 1 action
  • Range: Self
  • Components: V, S
  • Duration: 1 minute

You wordlessly communicate your feelings toward another individual. You can choose a creature you can see within 30 feet of you. Your hands emit bright light in a 5-foot radius and dim light for an additional 5 feet. The colour of the light you emit depends on how you currently feel toward the chosen creature, as shown in the Mood Colour table.

Mood Colour
Colour Mood
Black Hateful
Red Angry
Orange Friendly
Yellow Excited
Green Relaxed
Blue Worried
Indigo Wistful
Violet Distrustful
Pink Attracted romantically
White No strong opinion

The spell does not reveal whether the creature is disguised as another. The light you emit is based on your true feelings toward the creature and who you believe it to be. The light can also change based on your interactions with it.

The light dissipates at the end of the spell's duration or when you dismiss it (no action required).

Conjuration cantrip

  • Casting Time: 1 hour
  • Range: Self
  • Components: S, M (Anywhere between 1 and 10 gp in coin, which the spell consumes)
  • Duration: 24 hours

You use your magic to present a gift for a creature. When you cast this spell, the gold used for the spell’s casting is wrapped in a Small sized box with tasteful wrapping paper. For the remainder of the spell’s duration, you can carry this box with you.

As an action, you can give the box to a creature of your choice. If the creature willingly opens the box, the spell ends, and one of the following effects occurs:

  • If the creature is a good aligned creature, the box will contain one or several nonmagical items that it currently wants at that moment, and that costs up to the amount of gold used in the spell’s casting. For example, if the person unwrapping the box is a tavern owner thinking of restocking their supplies, the box will contain a number of bottles of ale equivalent to the gold used in the casting.
  • If the creature is a neutral aligned creature, the box will contain the gold used in the spell’s casting. If other types of coin were used in the spell’s casting, they are all converted to gold where possible.
  • If the creature is an evil aligned creature, the box will contain a pile of coarse ash, a lump of coal, or 1lb. of salt.
  • If the creature is acting as someone’s companion, it shares the companion’s alignment for the purposes of this spell.

If the creature that opens the box is a good or neutral aligned creature, there is a 1% chance that the contents of the box will equal 1.5x the value of the gold used in the casting (rounded up). The box’s contents are not limited by its size.

The box fails to open if the target is being forced to open it or if the target is an unaligned creature. You can only have one box at a time. This box disappears at the end of the spell’s duration. It also disappears if you cast this spell again or if you are on a different plane of existence to it.
