New Ink Spells

Transcribe

1st level illusion (ritual)
Casting Time: 1 Action
Range: Touch
Components: S, M*
Duration: Instantaneous

You touch one object with writing on it. You dip the pen in the drop of special ink, press it to a blank sheet of paper or parchment, and cast the spell. The writing on the object is then transcribed onto the blank page, front and back. The spell can fix words that have faded or been smudged, but does not translate the words into other languages, nor help you decipher their meaning (for example, it doesn't explain the writings from another wizard's spellbook).

The writing can be copied as many times as it will fit on the page. If the writing from the object cannot legibly fit on the page, it is cut off at the last full word that fits.

If you can see the writing, you can choose a word for the transcription to start on and a word for it to end on. Otherwise, it automatically starts from the first word.

At Higher Levels. When cast with a spell slot of 3rd or 4th level, this spell can transcribe on up to 5 pages. When cast with a spell slot of 5th or 6th level, you can transcribe on up to 10 pages. When cast with a spell slot of 7th or 8th level, you can copy on up to 20 pages. When cast with a 9th level spell slot, there is no limit to the number of pages that may be used.

*-(a drop of ink infused with jacinth dust worth 5 GP, which the spell consumes; an inkpen made of jade worth 50 GP; blank sheets of paper or parchment worth at least 1 SP)

Snapshot

2nd level illusion (ritual)
Casting Time: 1 Action
Range: Touch
Components: S, M*
Duration: Instantaneous

You capture what you currently see into a perfectly accurate piece of artwork, transferring it to a blank piece of paper, parchment, or canvas.

When you cast a communication spell, such as Message or Sending, you may use this image as an additional material component for the spell. The image is destroyed in a small burst of flame, and the recipient of your message sees it in their mind. The recipient only sees what was originally captured; alterations made afterward will not show. You may only use one image this way per spell. If the communication spell limits how much you can say, sending an image counts as 25 words or two sentences.

At Higher Levels. When cast with a spell slot of 3rd or 4th level, the duration becomes Concentration 10 minutes, and you may capture up 5 images, using a new blank paper, parchment, or canvas for each. When cast with a spell slot of 5th or 6th level, the duration becomes Concentration 1 hour, and you may capture up to 15 images, using a new blank paper, parchment, or canvas for each. Instead of the 15 images, you may capture up to 1 continuous minute of what you see as a moving picture. When cast with a spell slot of 7th or 8th level, the duration becomes 8 hours, and you may capture up to 50 images or 10 continuous minutes of moving picture. When cast with a spell slot of 9th level, the duration becomes 24 hours, you can capture up to 1,000 images or 1 continuous hour of moving picture.

*-(jacinth infused ink, oils, or paints worth 10 GP, which the spell consumes; a jade encrusted brush worth 100 GP; blank sheets of paper, parchment, or canvas worth at least 1 SP)
