Path of the Paragon - Barbarian

Followinf after the pursuit of beauty and grandeur, these barbarians channel their inner rage to turn themselves into incarnations of majesty and glory rather than battle and ferocity. They push themselves towards utter perfection, whether that be themselves or their allies, even to the point to tap into magic from realms like the Feywild or other planes of beauty and artistry.

Bonus Proficiencies

Beginning at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in a combination of any three skills or tools of your choice. Whenever you reach a level in this class that grants the Ability Score Improvement feature, you can replace one of these proficiencies with another.

Incite Rivalry

While you are raging, you can use a bonus action to select one creature within 60 feet of you. That creature that you can see within range must make a Charisma Saving Throw (DC is equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your charisma modifier). On a failed save, the creature is marked as your rival. For until your rage ends, that creature has a penalty on either skill checks or attack roles (your choice) it makes equal to you Rage Damage Bonus, it cannot willingly move more than 30 feet away from you whilst affected by this ability.

This effect ends if you use this feature again on another creature, if a creature friendly to you damages that target or casts a harmful spell on it, or if you end your turn more than 30 feet away from the target.

Guiding Aid

At 6th level, you know the guidance cantrip.

Perfection Personified

Additionally at 6th level, while you are raging and you make an ability check with a skill that you are proficient with, you can treat a d20 roll of 7 or lower as an 8

At 14th level, this benefit also applies to and creature within 10 feet of you whilst you are raging.

Brutal Skill

Starting at 10th level, choose a combination of your skill or tool proficiencies. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any check you make using those proficiencies.

Additionally, whenever you make a Charisma check, you are able to add tour Strength or Constitution modifier (which ever is higher) to the roll (at a minimum of 1).

Wondrous Presence

At 10th level, you are immune to being charmed. When another creature attempts to charm you, you can use your reaction to attempt to turn the charm back on that creature. The creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against the DC of the original charm from the creature or be charmed by you for 1 minute or until the creature takes any damage.

Engine of Magnificence

Whilst you are raging, you gain the following benefits:

  • Any hostile creature that is within 30 feet of you are always under the effects of your Incite Rivalry feature, even if a creature friendly to you damages a hostile creature or casts a harmful spell on it.
  • You can ass half your proficiency bonus (rounded down) to any ability check you make that you aren't already proficient in.
