# The Primite ### Just Monkeying Around Primites are naturally fun loving, play pranks and telling jokes. Evolved from common monkeys, they hail from the jungles and forests of the world, using prehensile tails and feet to climb and swing through the canopy. Primites can usually be found in troupes of 6 to 15, who move together across the forest, living a nomadic lifestyle. ### Song of the Forest Primites have more developed vocal cords than their bestial relatives. They often are heard singing ancestral tunes long before they are seen. It is believed that they use their singing in rituals and celebrations, causing entire forests to seem as if they are singing for miles around.

**Ability Score Increase.** Your Dexterity score increases by 2 and your Charisma score increases by 1.
**Age.** Primites reach adulthood by the age of 10, and generally live around 75 years.
**Size.** Primites are smaller than Humans, standing an average 5 feet tall. They generally weigh around 80 pounds. Your size is Medium
**Speed.** You have a walking speed of 25 feet and a climbing speed of 30 feet.
**Prehensile limbs.** Your feet can be used the same way one might use their hands, allowing you to use them to fulfill the somatic components of a spell or to pickup and hold an item.
**Quadruped.** You can use your hands as feet. At any time you may be in one of two stances, quadrupedal or bipedal, which you may switch between using your movement. You can switch between the stances using a bonus action. * **Quadrupedal Stance:** The quadrupedal stance involves placing your hands on the ground. Starting a turn in this stance increases your base speed by 5 for that turn. Standing upright into the bipedal stance costs 10 feet of movement.
**Prehensile Tail.** Your tail can be used for many of the same things as an arm. There are 3 main ways to use your tail. Using any of these will cause your tail to be encumbered. 1. **You may use an object with your tail.** This includes flipping levers, using tools, or activating items. You cannot use an item held by your tail to make an attack, and using a tool with an ability check imposes disadvantage. For the purposes of activating a magic item, your tail is considered to be a hand. 2. **You may wear a shield on your tail.** The AC bonus provided by the shield is reduced by 1, but it is otherwise fully functional. 3. **You may use your tail to fulfill Somatic components of spells** When your tail is free, you receive a climbing speed of 35 feet, and you may double your proficiency bonus on Athletics and Acrobatics checks.
**Languages.** You can speak, read, and write Common. You can also communicate with other Primites through a series of chirps, whoops, other noises.
