Warlock Patron: The Prince of the Long Night
Surely you’ve heard the stories of the Pale Prince and how he schemes to cover the world in ice—how each winter is a reflection of his struggle to extinguish the sun and cast the land into cold night. Perhaps you’ve heard of the menagerie in the Fortress of Frozen Tears, with mortals of great skill or beauty trapped forever in icy prisons. Or the tales of his wintertouched, which are servants who spread sorrow across the world and spill new tears for the walls of their prince’s fortress.
When you hear the mournful cry of the wind in the darkest depths of winter, beware. It could be the hunting horn of the Prince of the Long Night, come to claim another trophy for his dark hall, forever searching for his lost love, who fled from him long ago and is destined to one day be reborn.
Expanded Spell List
The Prince of the Long Night lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
1st level Prince of the Long Night feature
Your connection to the Pale Prince gives you the following abilities
1st level Prince of the Long Night feature
You can weave magic of winter court into your words, causing creatures to lose a bit of their morality and be convinced to do things they otherwise would not. When speaking with a non-hostile creature, you can use a bonus action to try and suppress their normal morality and draw them to your side. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw equal to your warlock spellcasting DC. On a failure, they are charmed by you for one hour, and are more prone than normal to acts that might cause harm to others. For instance, a normally loyal guard might be convinced to look the other way and let you pass in exchange for a bribe. Once you use this ability, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
6th level Prince of the Long Night feature
You draw upon the hardness of ice as a defense. You gain resistance to cold damage. Additionally, you gain the warlock invocation Tomb of Levistus. This does not count against your normal number of warlock invocations.

10th level Prince of the Long Night feature
As your patron's gifts grow, your heart becomes more like that of the Pale Prince, hardened against love, joy, and fear. You are immune to the Charmed condition and Frightened conditions.
14th level Prince of the Long Night feature
Your patron keeps a hall of icy statues, mortals of great skill and beauty, frozen as ice forever. You are charged with adding to his collection, especially those that might be his lost love reborn, or the mortal she left him for. As an action, you attempt to freeze a creature within 30 feet of you in place. The creature must make a Constitution saving throw or be restrained as it begins to turn to ice. On a successful saving save, the creature isn't affected.
A creature restrained by Icy Prison must make a Constitution saving throw at the beginning of its turn. If it fails, it is petrified permanently. Once it passes this save three times, the effect ends. If the creature is physically broken while petrified, it suffers from similar deformities if it reverts to its original state. After one month of being frozen, the statue is magically teleported to the Fey realm, and added to your patron's hall of statues. Once you use this ability you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
