## Omen ***"Foul tarnished, in search of the Elden Ring. Emboldened by the flame of ambition. Someone must extinguish thy flame. Let it be Margit the Fell!"*** —_Margit, The Fell Omen._ ### History The omen have a complicated history, their strange growths once considered a sign of divinity. Now considered cursed creatures never deserving to have existed in the first place. ___ The Omen are children of the crucible, they're ancestors being the first of life to be made from the crucible, or merely life that interacted with the crucible of life. And were worshiped as godlike beings of great stature. That can speak to the spirits of death and the dead. ___ But after the current gods and demigods took over, the Omens were shunned as if hideous beings to have ever graced man. Most capital cities placed their Omens within the sewers which they preferred to call a shunning ground. ___ Omen born to commoners often have their horns cut off, generally ending in the child's death, while Omen born to the Nobility are allowed to retain their tangled horns, but are hidden away underground and shunned no less fiercely. ___ Omen in a wide amount of cases, have been used as soldiers in militias and militaries, usually given larger weapons that are easy to take away when no looking. Most Omens that serve as soldiers have their horns cut, their scales shaved to a smooth plate, and their feathers plucked. ___ Omen with cut horns, can still commune with the dead, but only strong spirits of hatred, like wraiths, poltergeists, and fiends. As they speak the loudest. ### Appearance Large humanoid creatures covered in strange growths akin to feathers, horns, scales, and tails typically compared to ogres in stature and shape, found around the lands. Often resented for their appearance and stature, they are often used as fodder or are forced deep underground, never to be remembered. ___ Omen born to commoners often have their horns cut off, while Omen born to the Nobility are allowed to retain their tangled horns. ### Omen Names Omen are typically given their names from their human parents, but it's sadly not uncommon for Omen to go unnamed even long after they're born. * Common Born Names: Aek, Arg, Bail, Bane, Cos, Crantz, Dain, Dunnik, Eao, Einz, Frin, Fry, Grey, Grant, Halt, Hern, Inc, Ine, Jhan, Jhin, Karsic, Kale, Lann, Lance, Mor * Noble Born Names: Alfrain, Barranic, Callidaxin, Culfrixx, Dolquine, Daihhan, Eaxhain, Erikkur, Ferren, Filiane, Gainnil, Gehenna, Hallrane, Horngraix, Iaintz, Ienkrantz, Jehann, Jhonfried, Larrain, Laxxain, Mallix, Morgot, \columnbreak ### Omen Traits Your Omen character has the following racial traits. ___ **Ability Score Increase.** Con +2, Str +1, Wis +1 ___ **Size.** Omen average over 6 feet in height, and they have stocky builds.
