Way of the Twilight Dance

In intricate dances that draw on the innate ki present in the celestial bodies of the sun and the moon, monks that follow this tradition weave offense and defense with equal expertise. Through meditations under the open sky, these monks become fully attuned to the cycle of day and night.

Celestial Scholar

Starting when you join this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Navigator's tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one type of artisan's tools of your choice.

Additionally, your study of celestial bodies means you always know the number of hours left before the next sunrise or sunset.

Sunrise Fists

At 3rd level, you can use ki to imbue your fists with radiant light.

When you hit a creature with an attack granted by your Flurry of Blows, it takes radiant damage equal to your Wisdom modifier.

Mooneveiled Steps

At 3rd level, you can channel your ki to create a protective veil of moonlight.

When you use Patient Defense, choose a cyou gain temporary hit points equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier.

Twilight Footfalls

Starting at 6th level, your footsteps glow faintly behind you, allowing you to retrace them in an instant.

At the end of your turn in combat, you can teleport to the space you started your turn in; as long as that space is not occupied by another creature or object.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. While you have no uses available, you can spend 2 ki points to use this feature again.

Tenebrous Dawn

Starting at 11th level, you can use your ki to manipulate light and dark.

As an action, you can spend 3 ki points to cast either the daylight or darkness spell, without providing material components. If you cast darkness, you can see through the darkness created by the spell. If you cast daylight, the light created by the spell is sunlight.

Avatar of Eclipse

By 17th level, you master weaving the dances of day and night in the flow of combat.

After using Patient Defense, you gain the following benefit the next time you use Flurry of Blows:

  • Unrelenting Sun. When you use Flurry of Blows, you can make three attacks instead of two. You have advantage on all these attacks.

After using Flurry of Blows, you gain the following benefit the next time you use Patient Defense:

  • Waxing Moon. When you use Patient Defense, choose a creature you can see within 30 feet of you. Until the start of its next turn, attack rolls against it have disadvantage, and it can make Dexterity saving throws with advantage.
