# Evoker (Sorcerer Subclass) ## Heir of Magic Throughout the ages, Mages have always paired their offspring together in an attempt to pass down the distilled arcane essence honed through practice of the Magical Arts. You are one of the inheritors. Imbued with this latent power, your title is that of the Evoker, the Heir of Magic. ## Pointedly, Evokers and the School of Evocation have no relation beyond their shared name and etymology. An Evoker calls forth magical power from within as the purest form of sorcerer: one whose heritage draws from powerful mages, rather than extraneous bloodlines. ## Evokers often awaken their magical heritage late into their teenage years as a coming-of-age, though their powers may manifest even earlier as an involuntary reflex. Taming the sorcery becomes their life mission from then on. #### Sorcerous Origin Your sorcerous origin grants you several spells as you gain sorcerer levels. These spells count as sorcerer spells for you, and do not count against the number of known spells you have. | Sorcerer Level | Spells | |:----:|:---------------| | 1st | *Detect Magic, Magic Missile* | | 3rd | *Magic Aura, Misty Step* | | 5th | *Counterspell, Magic Circle* | | 7th | *Banishment, Dimension Door* | | 9th | *Teleportation Circle, Wall of Force* | #### Awakened Arcana At 1st level, you awaken to your calling as an evoker. When you cast a sorcerer spell with a casting time of 1 action, you can immediately take one additional action, which can only be used to cast a spell. #### Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest. #### Ritual Casting You can cast any sorcerer spell you know as a ritual if that spell has the ritual tag. #### Exalted Evolution At 6th level, your inherited magic allows you to break the limit. As a bonus action, you can regain a number of sorcery points equal to half your sorcerer level. #### You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. \columnbreak #### Providence At 14th level, you can use your Awakened Arcana feature twice, rather than once, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a short or long rest. #### Heritage for the Future At 18th level, you gain advantage on saving throws against spells and other magic effects. Additionally, you have resistance to damage from spell attacks. By spending 5 sorcery points, you gain access to all the metamagic options for 1 hour (you must still spend sorcery points to use each metamagic option, however).
