Though the translation is crude, it is believed that "cruoric" is a word that relates to vampires. Specifically, a cruoric is a berserker or warrior intentionally infected but denied the full power of vampirism to keep them dependent and in line. Though they lead the swarms of lesser spawn and are a terrifying presence, they are ultimately puppets all the same. Beginning at 3rd level when you choose this class option, your supernatural bloodlust can lend you forbidden power. While raging, you can expend one of your Hit Dice to use in the following abilities: Blood Dash: At the start of your turn, you can sacrifice your movement to gain a flying speed equal to half your walking speed until the end of your turn. While you have this flying speed, you become incorporeal, and moving through a creature's space causes it to take slashing damage equal to 1d6 + your Rage Damage bonus. Shadow Cleave: When you make a melee attack, you can deal an additional 1d10 damage with the attack. If this attack kills the target, you regain the Hit Dice you expended. The first Shadow Art you use when you rage costs no Hit Dice. In addition, if you spend at least 1 minute next to the corpse of a creature that isn't a construct, elemental, ooze or undead, you can regain one expended Hit Dice. When regained in this way, it can only be used for your Shadow Arts. At 6th level, you gain access to the following Shadow Arts: Serrated Talons: When you begin a rage, you can choose to grow sharp claws and teeth. Your unarmed attacks deal 1d8 slashing damage on a hit for the duration of your rage. If you only make attacks with your Serrated Talons on your turn, you can make an additional attack. Fathomless Rage: When your rage would normally end, you can have it last until the end of your next turn without expending any rages. When you gain Hit Dice from a corpse, you now regain 2 expended Hit Dice. At 10th level, your Shadow Arts improve in the following ways: Blood Dash only costs a Hit Dice if you use it to fly more than 15 feet per use. Shadow Cleave now deals 2d8 extra damage instead of 1d10. Serrated Talons gives you +1 to your AC while active. Fathomless Rage increases your rage's duration by two turns instead of one. At 14th level, your vampiric infection starts to take hold. While raging, you grow leathery wings, giving you a flying speed of 30 feet, and you regain hit points equal to your Rage Damage bonus at the start of your turn. In addition, you can use your action while raging to regain an expended Hit Dice which can only be used for your Shadow Arts. Taking this action doesn't cause your rage to end.
