Pyre Born
Undead warriors that are walking infernos, Pyre Born are filled with a burning wrath and an inextinguishable hunger for destruction. They are created through a complex ritual, which includes burning the body of a warrior betrayed
by ones they trusted on a wooden pyre built from a desecrated tree, and the fires that permeate them
remains from that ritual, unable to be extinguished until they are destroyed. It is the strength of the flames that
leads to some legends telling that the fires are the fires of hell, and that they burn to consume those that betrayed the lost soul.
These are undead that should not be underestimated, as their bodily fires lash out to those nearby. Moreover, as the fire builds up it risks bursting out in a fiery explosion, and when they are destroyed, all of the fire down to the last spark is released in one last explosion.
Bound Destruction. A Pyre Born is completely under the control of the one who completed the ritual, though they are mostly only capable of destruction and burning all in their way. If the person that created the pyre born dies or their connection is severed, then the pyre born will begin to rampage and all those who stand in its path of destruction risk being burned to ashes.

Burning Vengeance. The pyre born knows if a creature it can see is one of the creatures that betrayed it in life. Whenever the pyre born deals fire damage to one of those creatures, the target's hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to half the fire damage taken. The reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies and its body turns to ash if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.
Death Burst. When the pyre born dies, it explodes in a burst of burning ash. Each creature within 15 feet of it must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 36 (8d8) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Heated Body. A creature that touches the pyre born or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 6 (1d12) fire damage.
Illumination. The pyre born sheds bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet.
Powered by the Flame. Whenever the pyre born would take fire damage, its flames grow. Until the end of its next turn, it gains a +2 bonus to its AC, has advantage on Dexterity saving throws, and its Explosion action recharges on 5-6.
Siege Monster. The pyre born deals double damage to objects and structures.
Actions
Multiattack. The pyre born makes two Pyre's Touch attacks. It can use its Conflagration in place of one Pyre's Touch attack.
Pyre's Touch. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage plus 9 (2d8) fire damage.
Conflagration. Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, range 30/120 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (4d6 + 4) fire damage.
Explosion (Recharge 6). The pyre born engulfs itself in a raging fire which then bursts out from it. All creatures within 30 feet of it must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 36 (8d8) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
