Artificer Specialist: Combat Engineer
A Combat Engineer is a unique and invaluable asset in the battleground. Instead of focusing on taking down enemies, they'll put up barriers and build trenches to protect their fellow troops. Skilled in both defensive architecture and abjuration magic, combat engineers can conjure shimmering fortifications in the blink of an eye, shaping the battlefield to their will. Some Combat Engineers are employed by kings and emperors to build wonderful castles that serve as impressive showpieces, and impenetrable bastions.

It appears in any orientation you choose, as a horizontal or vertical barrier, and it must be touching a solid surface or another arcane barrier. Alternatively, you can create a staircase that fits within a 5-foot cube, facing any orientation.
Each arcane barrier you create has AC equal to 12 + your intelligence modifier, and a number of hit points equal to three times your artificer level. After creating an arcane barrier, it lasts for 10 minutes or until you dismiss it as a free action on your turn. The barrier breaks early if it's reduced to 0 hit points or if you are knocked unconscious. You can maintain a number of arcane barriers at the same time equal to your Intelligence modifier. If you try to exceed your maximum, you choose one of the arcane barriers currently up and it immediately disappears.

You may also create a watchtower within the fortress that's between 5 and 15 feet in diameter, and up to 30 feet in height.
