# Artificer Specialist: The Biomancer ## Transformation Tested As a Biomancer you have delved into the secrets of transformation and excel in changing the natural structure of creatures. Often eccentric and always outlandish, biomancy is a budding avenue of discovery and is often met with mistrust from those who don't understand its applications. ### Tool Proficiency You gain proficiency with alchemist’s supplies. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice. ### Expanded Spell List You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Biomancer Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare. | Spell Level | Spells | |:---:|:-----------| | 1st | *charm person*, *longstrider* | | 2nd | *enlarge/reduce*, *wither and bloom* | | 3rd | *fly*, *water breathing* | | 4th | *black tentacles*, *polymorph* | | 5th | *hold monster*, *reincarnation* | ### Chimeric Boon Starting at 3rd level you have learned to weave flesh and sinew into new forms. As an action, choose a willing creature within 30 feet that you can see to unleash a wave of transformative magic. The creature affected by this magic has their Strength or Dexterity increased by 2 (your choice). In addition, the creature grows fangs and claws. These can be used as natural weapons that have the finesse property and deal 1d6 damage on a hit (Piercing for bite, slashing for claws). When the affected creature takes the attack action they can use the bite or claw immediately following the attack. ___ The transformation lasts for 10 minutes and you can use this ability a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all uses when you finish a long or short rest. ##### Credits u/flamableconcrete for Watermarks ___ Art: "Growth-Chamber Guardian" by Bram Sels ___ Art: "Master Biomancer" by Willian Murai ___ \columnbreak ### Chimeric Blight At 5th level and on, you can expend a use of your Chimeric Boon ability to curse a creature with limbs ill-suited for combat. Choose a creature within 30 feet that you can see and the target must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Spell Save DC. A target takes 2d8 magical bludgeoning damage or half as much on a successful save. Also, on a failed save the target is Grappled as their limbs transform into unfamiliar appendages. The target can repeat the save to free themselves and reverse the transformation at the end of each of their turns. This ability has no effect on constructs and incoporeal undead. ### Transformation Adept At 10th level, you become adept at flesh sculpting. You can cast the alter self spell without expending a spell slot and without preparing the spell, provided you use alchemist’s supplies as the spellcasting focus. You can also cast it on others with a range of touch. You can cast it a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. ### Master of Metamorphosis From 14th level and on, you become a master of biomancy. Your mastery prevents your body from being transformed unless you choose it to be. In addition, when you use your Chimeric Boon feature, you can choose to infuse it with superior magic. The target receives the following additional benefits: ___ Flying or Swimming speed equal to their movement speed. ___ Blindsight of 30 feet. ___ They regain hit points equal to your int mod at the start of their turn. ___ Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest. ___ ___ ___ \columnbreak
