## Way of the Rising Phoenix

#### Burning Soul
Your power draws from the eternal flame that fuels the legendary phoenix. Perhaps you were born in the presence of one of these ancient beasts, or granted a phoenix a grand service. Whatever the origin, the power and awe of the phoenix dwells within you.

### Fireborn
At 3rd level, the spark of the phoenix dwells in you, empowering your strikes. You gain the following benefits when making unarmed strikes:

* You can use your wisdom modifier instead of your dexterity for attack rolls.
* You can choose for the attack to deal fire damage instead of bludgeoning damage.

### Flame Breath
At 3rd level, as an action, exhale a 15ft cone of blazing fire. Each creature within this area must make a Dc (8 + your proficiency bonus + your wisdom modifier) dexterity saving throw, taking (1d8 + your wisdom modifier) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success.

You can enhance the flame breath's effects by spending ki points. For each ki point you spend, the damage increases by 1d8 and the cone size increases by 5 feet. You can spend a maximum number of ki points equal to half your monk level (rounded up).

### Rise from the Ashes
At 6th level, you learn to rise from death, as the phoenix does. When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can spend 3 ki points to instead drop to an amount of hit points equal to your monk level + your constitution modifier. You also gain temporary hit points equal to twice your monk level. You can not use this feature again until you finish a long rest.

### Eternal Flame
At 11th level, your fiery attacks extend your vitality. When you deal fire damage with an unarmed strike, you regain half your monk level in hit points. You can use this feature an amount of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

### Form of the Phoenix
At 17th level, you can unleash the fiery fury that lies within you. As an action, you can take on a phoenix form for one minute. While in this form, you gain the following benefits:

* You gain a flying speed of 60ft.
* You have immunity to fire damage, and resistance to all other damage.
* When you use your *rise from the ashes* feature, all creatures within 10 feet of you take 2x your monk level + your wisdom modifier fire damage.
