College of Undeath
Music of the Grave
This bardic college is for bards who wish to use their power to raise people and creatures from the dead and use them to do their bidding. Most members of this college will have a dark, cold sense of humor, and prefer the company of the dead to the living
Bonus Proficiencies
At 3rd level, your connection with the afterlife grants you proficiency in the Stealth and Religion skills. If you already have proficiency in one of these skills, you can choose any other skill to gain proficiency in. You learn the Toll the Dead cantrip, and this cantrip does not count against your total number of cantrips known.
Touched by Death
At 3rd level, you gain several traits associated with the reanimated dead. Your skin becomes pale, and you no longer need to breathe.
Additionally, you gain resistance to necrotic damage while not in direct sunlight.
Scorn of Demise
At 3rd level, your insults become much more vicious. Your vicious mockery cantrip is enhanced in the following ways:
- You can choose for the damage type to change to necrotic
- You can expend a use of your bardic inspiration die to deal extra damage with the cantrip. The extra damage equals the roll on the bardic inspiration die.
- If the creature you target is an undead, you can choose for the cantrip to restore hit points to the target instead of dealing damage to them.
Necrotic Secrets
At 6th level, you can learn the Animate Dead spell, and one additional spell from any class, provided that the spell is from the necromancy school of magic. The spell must be of a level that you can cast, as shown on the bard table, or a cantrip.
The chosen spell counts as a bard spell for you, but does not count against the number of bard spells you know.
Master of Death
At 14th level, once on each of your turns, whenever you deal necrotic damage, you can restore half that many hit points to yourself or a creature within 30 feet of you.
Additionally, when a creature takes necrotic damage from a spell of 1st level or higher that was casted by you, they have disadvantage on saving throws for spells that do necrotic damage until the end of your next turn.
