Rogue: Tarantula V3
People think tarantulas are slow. That's only when they want to be. Tarantulas walk with purpose. They hide in their webbed burrows or in heights above. They wait, unseen. Then pounce and sink their venom into their victim. Such powers have been growing within you and now begin to manifest.
Spider Climb
3rd-level Tarantula feature
Your body has adapted to stick to surfaces, a skill you use to pounce on others. You gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed and can move up, down, and across vertical surfaces and upside down along ceilings, while leaving your hands free.
Dropping Ambusher
3rd-level Tarantula feature
When you are directly above an enemy you can drop down and make an attack. Dropping in this way allows you to use your Sneak Attack even if you don't meet the conditions required. You are immune to fall damage up to 30 feet.
Toxic
9th-level Tarantula feature
You now produce a natural venom. Your unarmed strikes now count as a finesse weapon and deal piercing damage.
When you hit a creature with a melee attack they must make a Constitution saving throw against a DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution Modifier. On a failure the target takes 1d8 + half your Rogue Level poison damage and are poisoned for 1 minute. Upon a success they take half damage and are not poisoned. They can repeat the save at the end of each of their turns to end the effect.
The amount of venom you produce is limited. You can only use this ability a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus. You regain all uses on a long rest.
Spider Experienced
13th-level Tarantula feature
Your body has changed to become more arachnid-like. Your climbing speed increases by 10 feet. You gain resistance to poison damage.
You can now fall 60 feet before you start taking fall damage. At 17th level you gain immunity to fall damage.
Webbing Skill
13-level Tarantula feature
You begin producing a natural silk. you can use for the following abilities:
- You can spend 1 minute to create a small basket or small object made of spider silk. The object is reduced to a pile of cobwebs after 24 hours.
- You can use your action cast Web. It does not require concentration. It lasts for 1 minute.
- You can use your reaction action to quickly weave a parachutes of web to slow you and your allies descent. You can reduce the falling speed to 60 feet per round. You can target a number of creatures within 60 feet equal to your Constitution Modifier (minimum of 0). When you and the creatures land you take no fall damage.
Only one of these webbed structures can exist at a time. Once you use of these abilities you can not use it again until you finish a short rest or expend a use of Toxic to use it again.
To The Bone
17th-level Tarantula feature
Your inner being is gone. All that remains is spiders. When you fail your last saving throw or are killed outright, you explode into swarms of spiders that scatter in all directions. You reform within 10 miles in 4d10 - your Constituion Score days (minimum of one).
Once you use this feature you can not use it again for 30 days.
