Plague Imps
Despite their misleading name, plague imps are not considered to be devils but are actually a type of winged demon. At first glance, plague imps share many visual similarities to imps due to their vaguely humanoid form, hooked tails, and ragged wings. However, unlike their infernal counterpart, plague imps have a rather animalistic gait similar to that of a rat as it typically prefers to travel on all fours when on the ground, occasionally squatting on its haunches.
Demonic Vermin
Plague imps are pests that plague the various levels of the Abyss. They travel in vile swarms seeking any living creature that they can infect with their demonic pestilence. Those who travel to the Abyss often can confuse swarms of these putrid creatures as strange cloud of green vapor or toxin.
Demon Plagues
The body of a plague imp is infused with a demonic disease known as Demon Plague. Once contracted, this disease behaves similarly to a poison that not only severely weakens a creature but also slowly withering one's life force. However, the most dangerous aspect about this disease is that if one dies while infected, their body begins to shrivel up and mutate as its returns to life as a plague imp.
Infectious Combat
In battle, the plague imp’s primary goal is to inflict demon plague on its opponent. Despite their decadent form, they are surprisingly nimble fliers and are able to easily evade the reach of their opponents. When a creature contracts the disease, the plague imps will incessantly swarm those individuals hoping to turn them into plague imps. However, if the demon is about to die, it does not have sense of self-preservation and will attempt to use its inevitable demise to infect as many creatures as possible as it explodes in a putrid mist.
