This egg shaped magical item, small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, holds a petrified monstrosity that can be called to aid you by speaking its command word.
The creature that the egg can summon, determines the item's rarity, as per the table below.

If you touched the egg last, and speak the command word, the petrified creature is summoned (replacing the egg) in an open space around or in front of the egg that is large enough to contain the creature's size. If no such space is available the item fails to activate.
When the creature is summoned, all conditions affecting it are removed. The creature is friendly to you and your companions. It understands your languages and obeys your spoken commands. If you issue no commands, the creature defends itself but takes no other actions.
The creature can remain summoned for up to 1 hour. It returns to its item form when the hour is up or if you speak the command word again before then. If the creature is killed, this item is destroyed. Once the command word has been used to summon the creature, it cannot be summoned again within 24 hours.
The creature and egg share their hit points and AC score. While in egg-form, it has resistance to all damage and regains 5d8 hit points each day at dawn.
