Ooze Giant Progenitor
Ooze giant progenitors are a peculiar kind of ooze as they are believed to occur through natural means. Although traditionally, many types of oozes have unnatural origins due to arcane experimentation or disasters, ooze giant progenitors are actually believed to be the result of a rare defense mechanism of the gemini oozeling.
Combined Defense
Scholars believe that when placed in imminent danger, gemini oozelings have the special ability to merge together to combine their forms. Reports claim that up to 10 or more oozelings have the capability of merging together to form a colossal ooze giant-like form. These hulking slimes can reach colossal proportions rivaling the size of the mighty fire giant.
Merged Consciousness
Gemini oozelings only seem to use this tactic as a last resort as it has unintended consequences. Once an oozeling merges in this manner, it loses its individual personality as its consciousness is merged with others that form this colossal entity. Because of this, scholars believe that the ooze giant develops its own unique personality that draws on various traits of each of the merged individuals.
Gelatinous Shedding
Ooze giant progenitors are considered to extremely challenging to fight, not because of their sheer might or endurance, but their special ability to spawn more oozelings whenever it takes significant damage. However, these new oozelings do not share the consciousness of their original forms. Each new oozeling spawn by the ooze giant has a completely new personality based on the merged consciousness of the ooze giant. Because of their special ability to split into a new form, even upon death, ooze giants are nearly impossible to fully destroy as fragments their consciousness are merely transferred to their new duplicates.
Spawned Rivalry
Although oozeling spawns will defend the ooze giant in battle, they have little desire to remain with the ooze giant afterwards, and instead want to forge a life on their own. However, ooze giants naturally want maintain their full form and will attempt to reabsorb any oozeling's spawned by them. As a result, their tends to be a rivalry between oozelings and ooze. Because of this, ooze giants are typically solitary creatures as most of their kind are shunned by oozeling who regard them with fear due to the threat being absorbed into the collective.
