Charon's Lantern
Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement)
"All things have their dues; life included."
This item has two command words. Only one command word can be spoken once per turn.
Shackles of the Ferry. When the first command word is spoken, the lantern is lit, casting bright light in a 15-foot radius and dim light for an additional 15 feet. This light passes through all objects and ignores any cover. While the lantern is lit, all undead creatures within this 30-foot radius of light that are in the Ethereal Plane are forced into the same plane as you (usually the Material Plane). This effect can force a creature to start its turn inside an object.
When the first command word is spoken while the lantern is lit, or if 8 hours have passed since the first command word has been spoken, the lantern's light goes out again.
Due Payment. If the second command word is spoken while the lantern is lit, all undead within 30 feet of the item must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. They take 8d6 force damage on a failed save, and half as much on a successful one. Once an undead has been damaged by this effect, it ignores all future effects of this item and can no longer be forced out of the Ethereal Plane by it.
Eyes of Charon. Once you have been attuned to this item for 10 days, you gain the ability to see up to 30 feet into the Ethereal Plane while attuned to it.
