Bard: College of Humor

Typically jokesters, jesters, or fools, bards who enroll in the College of Humor wish to joke and tease their peers and foes. Whether it be a friendly quip or a dastardly remark, their humorous style shines light in a time of sorrow or fans the angry flame of an already irritated foe.

Harsh Humor

When you join the College of Humor at 3rd level, you learn the Vicious Mockery cantrip. If you already know the Vicious Mockery cantrip, choose any other bard cantrip to learn. When casting Vicious Mockery, the damage die uses the same die size as your Bardic Inspiration die.

Teasing Tricks

Also at 3rd level, you learn a few tricks to tease those around you. As a bonus action, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration, roll the die, and choose a Teasing Trick. Each Teasing Trick details its range, effects, and duration.

Ticklish Feather. You conjure an especially fluffy feather in your hand and you attempt to tickle one creature that you touch with it. That creature must succeed a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or become Incapacitated for a number of rounds equal to the number rolled. At the start of each of its turns, and each time it takes damage, the target can make another Wisdom saving throw. The target has advantage on the saving throw if it’s triggered by damage. On a success, this effect ends and the conjured feather disappears.

Distracting Hat. You can fashion a distracting fool's hat to your head and attempt to distract a creature. One creature within 30 feet who can see you must succeed a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or become unable to look away from your hat. The creature has disadvantage on attack rolls against creatures other than you for a number of rounds equal to the number rolled. At the start of each of its turns, and each time it takes damage, the target can make another Wisdom saving throw. The target has advantage on the saving throw if it’s triggered by damage. On a success, this effect ends and the fool's hat disappears.

Disrupting Juggle. You create 3
small rubber balls in your hands and
begin to juggle them. One creature within
30 feet who can see you must succeed a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or become distracted by your peerless juggling skill. The creature must subtract the number rolled from the next saving throw it makes before the start of your next turn. The rubber balls then disappear.

Humorous Mischief

At 6th level, you learn to magically cause trouble. You can cast Tasha's Hideous Laughter and Nathair's Mischeif each once without expending a spell slot. You regain the ability to do so after you completing a long rest.

When you cast either spell, any target who fails the saving throw also suffers one funny and harmless effect of your choice for the duration. An example could be that their hair morphs into a weird shape or they begin constantly farting.

Balancing Act

Also at 6th level, your acts of comedy allow you to perform daring stunts and powerful distractions. You have advantage on Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks to balance yourself.

This includes, but is not limited to, landing on the ground or balancing on ropes, rolling objects, and thin ledges.

Masterful Jokester

Starting at 14th level, whenever you use a Teasing Trick option, you can roll a d6 and use it instead of expending a Bardic Inspiration die.
