While holding this shield, you have a +1 bonus to AC. This bonus is in addition to the shield's normal bonus to AC.

Whenever you take psychic or radiant damage, the damage is reduced by 1d6 before resistances and other effects are calculated.


This shield has 3 charges and regains all expended charges daily at dawn. If your Intelligence score is less than 13, you take 1d4 psychic damage (ignored by all other effects of this shield) when you expend a charge.

True Gaze. You can use an action to expend 1 charge to gain truesight out to a range of 15 feet for 1 hour.

Gaze of Rebuke When you take 20 or less psychic or radiant damage, you can use your reaction to expend 1 charge to negate the damage and deal damage to the source. The damage you deal is equal to the damage negated and of the type not taken. For example, if you would take radiant damage, you deal psychic damage to the source (and vice versa).

Gaze of Defiance. When you take 21 or more psychic or radiant damage, you can use your reaction to expend 1 charge to halve the damage taken. Additionally, for 1 minute, all attacks you make against the source of the damage deal an additional 1d4 psychic and radiant damage.
