Sky Children

"You can see them, flying amongst the dawn's first light. At first, you may mistake them for a large bird, but look closer and you'll see it is a child. They fly with colorful wings of many patterns that look like mere capes, but they are bound to the child as is their light. Dark of skin yet glows with the light of an everlasting candle. They would look up at me with curious glowing eyes that shined behind their masks, they would try to take my hand into their innocent games. If one were not to know better, one may mistake them for cherubs."

History

Sky Children, or known to some as Sky Kids, are said to be children from the very sky that they are named after. They fall from the heavens within shooting stars that land amongst the material plane as beings of light. People are not sure where they came from exactly and why they are here. They are innocent in nature and are known to be quite curious. Despite their small physique, they are sturdy like the hardest stone and are able to handle themselves in even the toughest of situations. Do not let their appearance fool you, a "child" may be many decades in age, having never aged a day since their fall from the heavens. Most of them are kind-hearted and willing to interact with anyone and are capable of forming friendly relationships with other people, humanoid or not.

Appearance

Sky children look like small children ranging from the ages of 6-15. They have dark colored skin, from a dark brown to a dark stone grey. They have white hair that has a colored sheen depending on the subrace. They wear masks that they seem to just manifest at will. They will use any mask design, but simple ones with at least eye-holes are their preferred choice. These masks disappear a minute after being taken off, some children do not wear masks at all, but this is rather uncommon. Without a mask, Sky Children have human facial features, but have glowing solid white, yellow, or sky blue eyes. Sky Children have colorful cape-like wings that do not seem to be firmly attached to their shoulders, these capes come in all sorts of shapes and colors.
