Frost's Gathering NPCS:
Father Fülle and Bestfæng

Within the world of Aaroda lies a tradition held near the winter solstice of the world, a holiday with many different names and festivities but for the continent of Arendo it is commonly called Frost's Gathering. During this time, preperation for the colder months is set in place and farmers begin to prepare for the next crop season, but also families, friends, and large groups of people celebrate the time they have together to help distract from the frigid weather. Of the many creatures and myths that pop up around the holiday, two individuals stand out as the most famous of them all.

Father Fülle

As the winter season gets colder and snow starts to cover the land of Aaroda, stories are told of an imposing yet kind figure who takes his birch crook with soft blankets of snow, and on the final day of Frost's Gathering he brings gifts of handmade toys and even silver. This man is known by many names by many cultures, but is commonly known as Father Fülle.

From the many different accounts of meeting Father Fülle can vary from person to person. Many people have said he comes in the form of different races and species depending on who sees him, such as an orc male in orc families, nomadic otterfolk tribes have said he looks like a large otterfolk, and various other instances. Despite this, Fülle often comes in the form of a large and old male with long silver hair, draped in a gold and red cloak and
usually having abnormal defects such as hands with extra fingers. On his travels to bring the snow he often
is accompanied by his white three-eyed stag,
Nysnö, and sometimes by smaller animals
and birds.

Bestfæng

After the soft ringing of Father Fülle has passed and the snow has been settled, sometimes one can hear the harsh bells and howls of something fierce on the wind. If one is lucky, this is the most they will interact with it. If a child or person has been naughty or bad enough, they might have the misfortune of seeing the source of the savage noise and snow storms, Bestfæng.

Traveling through the forests and lands of Aaroda, one can hear the sickly chiming of his cracked and rusted brass bells as his feral white wolves pull his sleigh. Bestfæng is often seen carrying his sleigh bells around his waist, along with a dark whip he uses to command his wolves and strike naughty children with icy slashes. For those he has deemed extra bad during the year, he uses his golden sickle of greed to hook those in and kidnap them, disappearing into the night never to be seen again.

It is rare for Bestfæng to be seen in his true form, often disuising as random people and even animals and mosnters. Despite this, his true form has only been seen enough to have tales of horror told about it. Often taking the form of a pale male with wild red hair and equally crazy red goat legs. Along with his goat legs he has curled goat horns on the top of his head and a large black and white snake for a tail that seeks out naughty children with its sinster yellow eyes.
