At the heart of all Blood Hunters is a deep-rooted fear of becoming the very monsters that one has sworn to fight.

The Order of the Sanguine Fang took that concern as a challenge, drawing power from powerful and ancient vampires, and transforming themselves in turn. This has given them a reputation for a monstrous nature, often tearing their foes apart and sapping their very life force into their own, becoming near-unstoppable forces of blood and steel.

Rite of the Famished

3rd-level Order of the Sanguine Fang Feature

When you join this order at 3rd level, you learn the Rite of the Famished as part of your Crimson Rite feature. When you activate the Rite of the Famished, the extra damage dealt by your rite is necrotic damage. Additionally, while that rite is active on your weapon, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have resistance to force damage.
  • Once per turn when you hit a creature with a weapon for which the Rite of the Famished is active, you can choose to regain hit points equal to the force damage you deal.

Sanguine Fangs

3rd-level Order of the Sanguine Fang Feature

Imbibing the power of ancient vampires has caused your fangs to lengthen, to drain the blood of your foes.

You can attack with a fanged bite, a natural weapon which counts as a simple melee weapon with which you are proficient. You add your Strength or Dexterity modifier to the attack and damage rolls when you attack with this bite. You may choose to make an attack with your fanged bite as a bonus action after taking the attack action.

It deals 1d4 piercing damage on a hit. While you are missing half or more of your hit points, you have advantage on attack rolls you make with this bite. In addition, you may apply your Rite of the Famished onto your fangs.

Bloody Lash

7th-level Order of the Sanguine Fang Feature

You can coat a weapon in your blood, letting it lash out as an extension of yourself.

When you invoke your Rite of the Famished onto a melee weapon, you can also choose to give that weapon the reach property. Only one weapon can benefit from the reach property in this way at a time.

Brand of the Red Mist

11th-level Order of the Sanguine Fang Feature

When a creature marked by your Brand of Castigation makes an attack against either yourself or an allied creature within 30 feet, you can use your reaction to do one of the following:

  • If the attack is against you, you can teleport up to 15 feet away in a cloud of red mist.
  • If the attack is against an allied creature, you can teleport up to 30 feet towards that creature and become the target for the attack instead.

Vampire's Frenzy

15th-level Order of the Sanguine Fang Feature

As a bonus action on your turn, or as part of the same bonus action to invoke your Crimson Rite, you can undergo a vampiric transformation. For the next minute, you gain the following benefits:

  • Your movement speed increases by 10 feet.
  • You can make one additional weapon attack when you take the attack action. This attack must be with your Sanguine Fangs.
  • The damage dice of your Sanguine Fang becomes the same as your hemocraft dice.
  • You become immune to necrotic damage but vulnerable to radiant damage.

This lasts until you fall to 0 hit points, or until you end it as a bonus action.

Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.

Apex Blooddrinker

18th-level Order of the Sanguine Fang Feature

You have mastered the ability to drain blood from those around you. You gain the Blood Curse of the Drinker for your Blood Maledict feature. This doesn’t count against your number of blood curses known.

Blood Curse of the Drinker

As an action you pry blood from the flesh of those around you and drink it in. Each creature within 30 feet of you that can hear you must succeed on a Constitution Saving Throw or take necrotic damage equal to 6 of your Hemocraft die, half on a success. For each creature that fails the saving throw you regain hit points equal to 1 roll of your Hemocraft dice.

Amplify: The range of this curse increases to 60 feet.

"I've only ever seen one of these elusive Blood Hunters once in my life. Other Hunters have this ferocity to them when they fight, but this one was something else, drawing the blood from a corpse and making it shrivel before my eyes with this ravenous look on its face"

Venrieth, Magister of the Arcadeus Magistery
