Phoenix Knight

The Phoenix is a mighty force of nature being an elder fire elemental. It is a standing symbol of the sun, life, and rebirth amongst many cultures throughout the multiverse. Phoenix Knights are chosen warriors of the phoenixes to protect the balance of nature, prevent catastrophes from occurring. A Phoenix Knight's mission can vary, but they are all bestowed the blessing of the phoenix giving them regenerative powers and fuels their motives with flames of passion. Phoenix Knights are spread far and wide working as adventurers against various monsters in order to restore the balance of nature by the power of the eternal flame.


Phoenix Knight Quirks

The power of the phoenix doesn't leave your body unchanged. Subtle differences are noticeable compared to before clearly magical showing your burning passion for your work. You can choose to roll or pick options on the chart to help determine some various quirks of your character.

1 Your armor glows a soft orange hue.
2 Runes lining your weapons spew out flame.
3 Your eyes change color from orange, blue, and purple.
4 Your fingers end in retractable talons.
5 Wings of flame sprout from your back.
6 Your footsteps leave small burn marks on the floor.
7 Any armor you wear is covered in colorful feathers.
8 You smell of crackling fire and smoke.
9 A living tattoo of a phoenix covers your body.
10 Whenever you strike a creature, they are bathed in flames.

-These quirks are solely cosmetic and cannot be used for any mechanical advantage.

Winds of Regeneration

Starting at 3rd level, you can use your bonus action to grant allies within 30 ft. a number of temporary hit points equal to your fighter level plus your proficiency bonus. These temporary hit points last until they take a long rest. Once you use this feature you can no longer use it until you take a short or long rest.

Elder's Knowledge

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Animal Handling, Nature, Perception, or Arcana. Whenever you fail an ability check with one of these skills you can choose to reroll and must take the new roll instead. Once this feature turns a failure into a success, you cannot use it again until you take a short or long rest.

Wings of Flame

At 7th level, you can use your bonus action to give yourself powerful wings of pure flame sprouting from your back. These wings last 10 minutes, give you a 60 ft. flying speed. When you attack, your attacks deal an extra 1d6 fire damage, and you don't provoke opportunity attacks.

Speaker of Flame

At 7th level, you learn Ignan allowing you to speak with elementals. After conversing with an elemental for one minute, you can force the elemental to make a wisdom saving throw against a DC 8 + Proficiency bonus + Constitution modifier. On a failure, the elemental becomes friendly to you and your allies if not already and can remake the saving throw every hour. On a success, the elemental is immune to this effect for 24 hours. Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you take a long rest.

Death and Rebirth

At 10th level, whenever you are reduced to zero hit points, you are instead reduced to one remaining conscious. You immediately regain a number of hit points equal to half your max hit points and you regain the use of your Second Wind feature, if you have expended it already.

Warriors Flame

Beginning at 10th level, you gain resistance to fire damage.

Burst of Flames

At 15th level, whenever you hit a creature with a weapon attack or unarmed strike, each creature within 10 ft. of the target takes fire damage equal to your fighter level. The target takes this damage as well.

Call of the Phoenix

At 18th level, You summon forth the phoenix that has granted you your power for one minute. During this time, it is friendly to you and your allies, and will assist in defeating any hostiles towards you. Once the minute is up, the phoenix returns to where it came from, and you can no longer use this feature until you take a long rest.
