Druid Circle:
the Chimera
Chimeras are corruptions of the natural order, melding wild creatures into an abominable vessel. Chimeric druids embody the fear of the predator and the prey, the many unknowns of the wilds, as well as the constantly changing forms of nature.
As a chimera, you might be driven by curiosity to achieve ever mightier bestial evolutions, or you might be a ravenous nightmare against the encroachment of civilization.
Chimeric forms
3rd level Chimera ability
Choose 3 CR 1/4 or lower beasts you are familiar with. When you use wildshape, you can transform into a chimera beast, combining these 3 forms. You must follow all other restrictions of the beast shape table.
While in your chimeric wildshape, you gain the following benefits:
- For each ability score, as well as size, AC, movement speeds, and hit points, you gain the highest value from your 3 forms.
- You gain all the traits, actions, and reactions granted by your forms.
You can replace one of these beasts with another when you finish a long rest. The maximum CR of the beasts you can choose increases to 1/2 at 5th level, 1 at 11th level, and 2 at 17th level. The level refers to your level in this class.
Combat wild shape
3rd level Chimera ability
You gain the ability to use Wild Shape on your turn as a bonus action, rather than as an action.
Additionally, while you are transformed by Wild Shape, you can use a bonus action to expend one spell slot to regain 1d8 hit points per level of the spell slot expended.
Onslaught
6th level Chimera ability
When you take the attack action while in your chimeric form, you can make an additional attack granted by one of your forms. The attack must be one you have not used as part of your attack action.
In addition, your attacks in chimeric form count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
Wildwalker
10th level Chimera ability
You can partially transform as a bonus action. While partially transformed, you gain the movement speeds of one of your 3 chosen chimera forms (your choice each time you transform). Your body changes accordingly, forming wings, fins, or hooves etc.
You can dismiss the transformation as a bonus action.
Abominable horror
14th level Chimera ability
When you wildshape into your chimeric form, each creature of your choice that can see you within 60ft of you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is frightened for 1 minute. A frightened creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of its turns, ending it on a success.
